But what's the point when you've got 2 strikers that have only scored 1 goal between them all season?

    Here come the Vellios comments!

yes i wanted 4-4-2 but i didnt want those players to play it!

Saha is a waste of space
Straqularsi ran round and got stuck in but didnt look prem class
Donovan should have had a pen
cahill came on and as usual lately doesnt look like he could score in a brothel
Nev hasnt got the legs for midfiled anymore
    sheitinga............name says it all

so yes 4-4-2 but leave all of the above back at home!!!!!

Leave those out and we wouldn't have a team!

And Donovan dived mate, to be honest!

he dived because he got pushed in the back-which is a pen
we dont have a team? i would play this team that we dont have!
howard hibbo (or nev as right back) jags distin baines drenthe osman fellaini coleman and donovan upfront with anichebe

i would also give berkley more time than he has beeen getting which is 0 and i would sell cahill who cant play unless its in a 4-5-1 i would sell saha sell bily and sell rodwell and shiteinga and use that money to try to get a decent midfielder and a striker

i realise not all those players were available tonight but we got rid of better players than we have in this squad (ie yakubu) every1 could see he needed a run of games and he was never given that but saha can play like a dog and be the 1st name on the teamsheet along with cahill!

blame the 4-4-2 get a clue you weirdo, playing 4-4-2 is what you need to do but not with two defenders centre mid a striker on the right wing and a centre mid on the left, moyes is a joke.

Ive always wanted us to play 442, but im not sure weve got the players up front to do it or a strong enough 4 in midfield.  Our team is full of just below average players...name 1 game this season that we have convincingly won...for me that was the worst we have played all season, no ambition, no skill, no passion and we are so boring to watch....in the freezing cold its bad

Before any more d1c4he4ds call me a weirdo - I wanted us to play 442 aswell, as mentioned above, we don't have the midfield for it, nor the strikers.

If Donovan was pushed then i'll take it back but there was no contact with the legs as though he was tripped.

To start Anichebe up front would be no different from starting Saha, apart from Saha has a record of getting goals and Anichebe has scored about as many as Baines in his Everton career!

Moyes isn't a joke at all. Anybody in football will tell you that, saying that is like some warehouse skivvy saying the company owner is ****, because you don't go to training every day, you don't know the players and you think you can pick a starting 11 to beat anyody. We can all play computers, this is REAL LIFE!

yes it is real life so can u tell me when saha was last prolific as a striker? by my reckoning it was in his 1st season with united when he played in a 4-4-2.
He isnt upto it anymore time for us and him to move on.

Saha has been our best striker probably since before Yak got injured, around 2 years ago.

I agree that Nev and Heitinga in centre mid is wrong, see my other post about us having terrible players. Think what you want, you don't always know best.

Saha isnt doing it he has lost all his confidence. I have wanted us to play 4 4 2 for a long while but you have to position the players in the correct places. I love Neville but this year he has been dire he makes poor decisions every game & shouldn't be in the team. We need to play more with the ball passing between the players not one pass lets hit it long. To play 4 4 2 we need to be pressing higher up the pitch but we dont . Thats down to the tactics & the players not having the confidence to do it.They have the ability no question

You're right, Saha has no confidence whatsoever, you can tell that just by his twitter, and i don't even have twitter!
He either needs a hat trick in his next game or to leave and find his feet somewhere else.

He still is our best striker though, Vellios, Straq, whoever, none of them are as good as him, although they may be better to put in the team, they aren't better players.

Without Drenthe we have no creativity, which you really need in 442, either that or Big Dunc and some nippy little striker next to him, we have nothing to support the 442 formation,

Didn't we finish 4th playing 451? Bring back Marcus Bent!

That's obviously a joke. We played 433 with Bent! :-)

We lost a game and we played 4 4 2, what about all of the times we have played poor and drawn or lost games while we have played 4 5 1? I still believe we should play 4 4 2 at home to every team, as we don't have a player who can lead the line on their own. Tonight the players let us and themselves down, not the formation.

    Agreed.

But we don't have 2 strikers that can play together either.

We wanted this when we had Beattie and AJ together, Not Straq and Saha.

451 suits our squad, and our manager right now. tonight proves that (Barring injuries of course)

To be honest, I don't understand how people are saying we must play 4 5 1 because it suits our squad even though we have drew or lost many games playing 4 5 1. I understand that we have a poor strike force but whenever Denis, Vellios or Saha have lead the line on their own they have struggled. I can think of many examples of when playing 4 4 2 has worked, and as I say, it was the players who let us and themselves down tonight, not the formation.

We all want 442 but not on the windiest day of the year so far. Playing two up front just encouraged the midfield (or 6 man defence as I saw it) to play hoof ball - the last thing the conditions demanded.

Bolton were better at getting the ball to ground and keeping it there. That's how they broke through our defence - not like us chasing Exocet missiles launched over the top......tonight Moyes is blaming the players for poor performance (which they were) but he was tactially inept too.

we have been playing 4-5-1 as we did not have the CM players to run the show then fans wanted 4-4-2 when we got the CM players to run the game do not think for one min that having 2 defenders in as CM players the cry for 4-4-2 will stop

moyes might want to start thinking about round pegs in round holes take a look at the MF tonight not one of them plays that role as there best spot
