He's been a really solid defender for years, never spectacular, scores sod all, but he's so reliable. How come he's never had even one cap for France? Are they so blessed with that many centre halves?

When he came through as a young lad they had Thuram (142 caps) and Blanc (97 caps), Desailly (116 caps), LeBoeuf (50 Caps)

Didnt have much of chance really, plus France is a bit like the English, they seem to favour their defenders even though they play badly or sleep with their team mates wives or be racists!!  Hey, they even make them Captains...

Certainly as a young player he had those in some cases legends to compete with, but he's still got pace, can play the ball a bit too, excellent timing. Who's playing at the back for France these days? I genuinely don't know and can't be arsed to check.

that can go at any time now and as soon as it does he will be pi33 poor. he is quick off the mark hence he still plays well, as soon as his legs go he will be useless.

You can see why moyes doesent want to give him a 2 year deal after we have seen first hand what has happened to cahill.

cahills existing contract would of been up at the end of this season, a perfect time for him to go, now he has 2 more years  left after this season.  there was someone who said at the time it was wrong to give  him a 4 year deal, and he would be finished at 32.

van persie managed 35 goals in 2011, guess how many cahill managed ZERO

You're right about his age and legs, I think we have players who we're going to be paying past their sell by date (as I recall disagreeing with you about some months, or years back). I wasn't advocating a new 2 year deal, just think he has been hard done by not to get one cap. This is the same nation that employed Stephane Guivarche as a striker, and indeed a footballer!
