It strikes me very much that the lad has severe confidence issues, just reading his body language and the way he speaks, he comes across as a nervous lad. If this is the case, and i suspect it is, i can understand if he is a different player in training than he is on the pitch as your more confident in surroundings your comfortable in and he obviously shows 'more' in training.

I'm not saying that the lad is, or will be a world beater, but i sometimes wonder with Vic, if he could build a bit of confidence up (perhaps helped by us as the fans)  we would see what DM obviously seems in him.

I'm not jumping on the band wagon either cos he has scored a goal, or trying to use him as a reason not to buy a striker, i just think with a bit of TLC that gives him a bit of confidence he could bang a few in this season for us. He scored a few in Europe a few seasons back, so he cant be completely useless, the lad i feel, needs a bit of backing, and i think we can all help by getting behind him.

    That is all. :)

I have always been hard on him because I think his attitude is wrong. He definitely looks nervious as you say but on the pitch he is always complaining when a pass doesn't go to him or they dont read his movement. He also is very greedy and doesnt look up. Which was shown against WBA near the end when we has 2 unmarked players in the middle and he tried to go himself.

I don't see him as a regular goal scorer and would rather see Vellios and McAleny given the chance. I do also want to see more or Denis because he looks promising.

As for your point I agree that the fans are too quick to blame the players and not appreciate the impact it might have on performances so will lay off the Victor bashing.

ATTITUDE,its pure and simple, it stinks. Remember in a game at GP we were chasing the game and Moyes decided to put him on. The time it took him to get ready was infuriating, spent more time finding his shirt and then putting it on, and then to confound things while he was standing waiting to go on with Moyes or Round cant remember who, he turned around with a smile on his face and waved to someone in the stand.
One of lifes moaners on the pitch, if its not happening, its shoulders down, arms waving, walking almost kicking an invisable object on the floor sulk. Too much too soon, got bulit up into somat he wasnt(always remember the Drogba, could be comments), and to be fair in one point his injuries, especially the Newcastle one, have made things a lot harder for him.
I always felt he of all players(like Osman did) would have benefited being loaned out to a Championship team for a period.

wat i found funny about his interview was "I celebrated that hard with the fans because I wants to repay them for the faith they have showed in me" wat fans was he on about because the majority wanted him out

THINK WHAT HE MEANT WAS, oops, ive not been performing, i know it, the fans know it, so that goal was for them to try and put that right.....im sure we would have all appreciated his acknowledgement more??

He has shown now and again that he does have the attributes to do well in this league, but its like others have said, his mindset doesn't always seem to be right on the pitch. If he can just get into the right frame of mind on the pitch and find a little more composure infront of goal then he could be close to what he was hyped up to be.

I know what I'd love to say, but I'd be pilloried in this forum. Just let me say it would be nice if people supported him while he was on the pitch. You lot can slag him off after the game.

I with Bobtache on this one, I've seen better players than him in the quadroplegic unit.

he`s not premier league quality. we all know that. but for some reason DM really rates him. why is this? I dont think anyone on here can explain. BUT he took his goal well and got us 3 points.

according to moysey: ""He's someone we have missed as he can play in several roles. He has a lot of potential, if we get the opportunity to unwrap it."I don't think Victor is a striker who will ever score loads of goals, but he is a good all-round forward player."He can play wide and up the middle, he has a lot of good attributes. He is a powerful, powerful boy and is very quick."At times he lacks a bit of self-confidence but the goal and the reaction of the supporters will help him."But even though he has played just 25 minutes, he was saying afterwards he was tired, so it's a matter of getting him match fit.""

I've given Vic stick for a while, but then I may have been influenced by hearing he was a c0cky swine. The interview showed otherwise, I liked his comment about being light on his feet, and the scouse accent is always good to hear from a Blue. Good luck to the lad, hope he can do a job for us. Often the bigger players take time to really blossom.
