Are you insane?! This has to be the best idea I've heard for ages, great for both clubs and the city. Means both clubs should be able to keep their respective grounds, expand them, keep their identities and you've got a whole lot of other things thrown into the mix as well. I hope it all goes through.

This does indeed astound me! I only read the plans yesterday and, having been a supporter of the idea of a shared ground for a while as I think it would make great business sense, THIS would make even MORE business sense as well as being feasible.

I believe it could only do the city a lot of good too, bring in extra revenue to spruce up the more deprived areas, more tourism and it'll create a helluva lot of jobs. And like I've said, both sets of fans would, I believe, be more willing to accept this idea. I certainly don't think there would be a divide like there is, however small, on whether or not we share a stadium.

Agree with all that, problem is this plan requires people to "think outside the box" which some people are just not willing to do.

Sorry but i cant get on that link, my comp wont go in there.
While this is a admirable idea for the city, who is paying for it, the clubs and the council??? Everyone knows we have no money, so how would we contribute to the idea. The last blogs and quotes from the club was that they were looking at redeveloping GP again. This to my reading of matters is vital. Its at least 10 yrs ago, someone will correct me, since BK said the "old lady" will be failing its safety certificate soon, and we were going to the docks then. As a season ticket holder in the Top Balcony, it is a concern to me they are talking about revamping, as there have been rumours about some of the stands safety issues(Top Balcony, being a big concern).
So you can understand my concern of other ventures now being mentioned as oppose to what i do feel should be addressed, even if the rumours arent true. I have tried to bring it to the attention of the club but as of yet heard nothing.

Its a great concept, but at the moment its a concept on the line of "We will think it and they will come"

If Everton came up with a concept with no money value attached to it, they would be slaughtered by this same organisation.

In fact, there has been no business feasability done into the idea.

I like the idea in general, but I would have loved to see a fully costed business case as was demanded for Kirkby rather than a broad outline which invites the local business to put their cash up because some fans think it will be a great idea.

The rules are that you only demand a fully coated proposal when you don't like the idea........

    No I'm not insane.
If you're so sane, perhaps you can enlighten me as to how we're gonna contribute money to redevelop Goodison AND the football quarter development when we're not able to do the former never mind that AND the latter?

Even if we were to find someone to help us financially in redeveloping Goodison, how the hell are we not gonna go bust over the years it's gonna take to do it when we either can't use the stadium, or we have to use it at drastically reduced capacity! Probably the former since we'd probably be turning Goodison 90 degrees for any redevelopment!

the idea of a 'sports quarter' maybe better. it might help raise more cash for the project. it would have to be funded by the gov't or the eu as well as private investment.

and if it included a shared ground it would make more economic sense to potential investors.
