If we sold Jags and Felli to reduce our debt.

Have 1 season with no purchases then start again next season.

For me we could cope easily without these 2 players

You say that, but how much are we paying off a year? How much better off would we be next season to make player purchases, or do we pay off debts to incur some more?

    no definately not happy
who would play in jags position , yobo is close to leaving so only heiti who i dont rate or maybe duffy gets a try
as for felli , yes we are overloaded in midfield but not with quality & i do rate felli highly but we need him to have an injury free season to get the best from him

kenwright would get no end of stick if he sold them 2 just to pay debt , most complaints are about not bringing in 1 player all summer.

debt is a massive problem for everton that only investment can help resolve , selling best players & not replacing them will eventually weaken the team & affect our ability to compete with just the mid table teams , never mind the top 6 IMO

Even if we did clear the debt in one swoop with player sales, it'd be at least a couple of seasons before we saw any benefit in terms of us having built up a cash reserve to use. Unless we were to then get new finance, or the clearing of the debt then made us more appealing to investors/a takeover

Can we afford as a club to have 50 million pounds worth of players sitting on the bench come Saturday

We need squad depth as well though. In october when the physio rooms full of first teamers, and people are complaining that we've 7 teenagers on the bench what do we do?

This is a tought question to answer and no easy answer to the problem. If selling a couple players now, not signing anyone would mean erasing our debt, then I would be for it. However, who knows if that would actually happen. You also need to make sure they wouldn't get relagated. Its a fine line...

I am quite positive that we wouldn't get relegated if we lost 2-3 players this season.

Felli wasn't missed for the past 2 seasons when we had our better runs during his injuries.

Jagielka could be covered by Heitinga who no matter is said is a world cup finalist as a CB so is more than capable of filling the Gap left.

Rodwell could be replaced by Barklay

Bily will hardly play this season so get rid.

Yakubu and Yobo wil be given little opportunites so get rid.

This would still leave us with a squad of roughly 25 which is all we are allowed in the prem

I understand your points..however, if there were injuries to those replacements, then they would be in a bind. I think 2-3 players could be sold, just not all 6 of them. My 3 choices would be Yakubu, Yobo and Rodwell or Bily...however, combined they wouldn't fetch that much.

Wash your mouth out Milky - Jags is a brilliant player.
