Lescott has done well for himself since he went to City, and he will continue to win things and he should get in the side because he is a good player.

He has played regularly with Kompany while Toure was suspended and he did well so why not? Maybe not every week but he will be getting good money and he will win trophies, so overall the move to City has been a good one so far and it will surely only get better.

Lescott has had more success while with City but I don't think that they're entirely convinced by him really. If City get Gary Cahill which isn't exactly unlikely then he'll have to fight it out with Toure, Savic and Cahill for the CB posistion next to Kompany and it could only be a matter of time until he's frozen out there.

With regards to Pienaar... I'd still have him back.

I didn't see Pienaar as betraying us, just a bit foolish as he was never going to be as adored there as he was at Goodison, or get the game time.  I would have him back.

Lescott mainly played left back for us, and he wouldn't get a game there now (though who we play there if Baines gets injured I dread to think).  He's a decent centre back, but I am not even sure he'd get into our team all that much,  I think everyone did well out of the deal, we got £23m(!!!!!) he got huge wages, City don't care about the cash.

Blinkered bitterness?  The loyalty issue that every player should remain at the club until the club decide to get rid.  That one way loyalty thing.  the Yak, Beckford may have been really happy here, the club don't have to show them loyalty, but the players have to.

If Pienaar was to come back (not saying he would) it would only take a couple of good performances for him to win over the fans again and all would be forgotten. I am sure that most if not every blue would have Rooney back at Everton.

I am not sure about Rooney, I mean I would, but not for a lot of money, I think his best years are behind him.

Aye, he is, but he should be running games on his own by now, and not be playing as a number 9.  Physically he peaked really early, he had a full beard at 16 and more chest hair than I ever will.  I am not sure he's developed the side of his game that his early technique and inventiveness promised, and I think physically he may wane early, pun wholly intended, due to his build and reputed lifestlye.

He is probably the best player that has ever played for EFC in the PL, no matter how much hair he has on his chest!

Probly, but he should have been by now, the best player in the prem.  This is the same worry I have with Barkley (see other thread), it stems from players like Rooney and Gerrard not fulfilling promise, just getting to a very good level and settling for it.

Little Chance of Rooney coming back to Everton. Pienaar has said Everton will always be in his Heart. Wayne although a local lad only used us as a 'Stepping Stone'?
