What has appalled me is the number of ex red has beens queing up to support Suarez. Hansen, Lawrenson, Aldrige, Redknapp, all supporting Suarez and by extention saying Evra is either exagerating or outright lying. It would appear that  poor innocent Suarez is the victim here. Witness Reina sayiing Suarez is the victim of a witchhunt. I thought he was going to burst into tears.
Maybe the real reason for all this wailing and gnashing of teeth is because Suarez is the only player they have who knows where the net is. They're desparate to qualify for the champions league and all the lovely money that comes with it and having that useless lump Carroll up front just isn't going to cut it. No Suarez no Champions League. It's as simple as that.

You raise a very good point about the ex RacistS, if they support Suarez they are effectively calling Evra a liar. Suarez will end up causing a great deal of trouble due to his actions.........

this whole thing frustrates the bejaysus outta me.  At the end of the day he admitted he said something; and that something was taken as a racial slur by the person who heard it.  Subsequently that word was shown to have racial connotations and Suarez has been disciplined.

The actions of liverpool's players in wearing a shirt in support was wholly inappropriate and unacceptable.  Liverpool have painted themselves as victims. Their fans are pulling out arguments based on the man u/liverpool rivalry.

At the end of the day, Suarez racially abused Evra. End of. Nobody is saying he is racist, but his "ignorance" is absolutely no defence to using racist language.

In a nutshell. They see themselves as the righter of wrongs, the Sun, H&G, Woy, Justice for the (insert cause here), and now it's Suarez. They cannot ever admit that they are wrong. That is why it is impossible to discuss football, or indeed anything else, with them.

In fairness to Lawrenson he was pretty critical about the T-Shirts when they came out wearing them. Thought it sent out a bad message and that the player lived in a bubble and did when everyone else in the club did.......and that they might well live to regret this later on.

If they don't come on here we should go on the RS forum and invade enemy territory!

But I am guessing the would say something like Suarez is a true professional and he has been treated unfairly.

i can safely assume that they will not come near this, although they will read it. The position of their players; and the club, is indefensible...

from the winners and losers section of 365....Liverpool top the losers list with this:

    Liverpool

Look away now if you care about how football portrays itself because a
great institution is falling on its irresponsible sword. There is no
opprobrium too great to be levelled at Liverpool because at the heart of
this sorry episode - bad enough to begin with, worsening by the day
because of the club's not-sorry sorry response to a shame of their own
escalation - is their absolute refusal to remember who they are.

Remove the tribalism for a moment and all football fans should be able
to agree that Liverpool are a great institution within the game. Now put
those blinkers back on because it's all that Liverpool - a great
institution turned blind by their own one-eyed irresponsibility -
deserve. If they don't want to see the wider responsibilities a great
institution is beholden to uphold then nobody else ought to adjudge them
from a neutral perspective. If they want to see everyone out to get
them then let them see it.

There's a 'hear no evil, see no evil' line in here somewhere because the
first pitiful retort to the playing staff's misguided show of support
for Luis Suarez before the game at Wigan is the reminder that, as per
the club's own statement, not one of them heard the exchange between
Suarez and Patrice Evra. No matter. He's one of them and the other
    isn't. Case closed.

Truly, did nobody at the club stop to consider what sort of message
their Suarez shirts sent out? Can it really be true that nobody at
Liverpool Football Club remembered that their name lists Football as
well as Club? Was it really so hard to spot the benefits which would
have been accrued for all concerned - including the club, including
Suarez himself, including the game - if the entire playing staff had
    lined up in anti-racism shirts?

Apparently not. And here's the message that Liverpool, a great
institution turned in on itself without a single dissenting thought for a
wider perspective, spelt out last night: English football has turned
    absolutely tribal.

I heard from a reliable source... the reason adams took the pen the other night was because suarez, if he had scored, was planning to celebrate by putting a pillow case over his head and setting fire to glen johnson !!
