I think the UK position is pretty clear. Europe doesn't seem to get it but we want nothing to do with a Federal Europe nor the Euro. We have taken a very big step forward and no backward steps as yet......I also notice that the French have gone very quiet.......

But this has been a political union,of sorts, for years.
It's no longer an association for trade purposes only.
Have you not seen the progression before now?

Of course we have, but our political masters have kept driving down the same bloody road inch by inch. Now they cannot do it anymore without a referendum and so they are finally growing a pair. If the UK had a referendum we might actually vote to quit the whole damn thing and they know it...............

Would not blame the UK if they did. Sorry day the Punt was let go for the Euro. Things were far simplier when the Punt was alinged with Sterling.

Much as we need to intergrate our global societies....I can't help but think that the financial side of that can wait until  corporations pay their fair share of tax, governments stop bullying each other about who is and isn't allowed to have a big gun or not.... and, well...everyone has enough to eat.
