How we gonna turn around a 5£ mill loss a year?

    This worries me most.
We loose money each year, and the bank says; full stop:(
Since we are not gonna get any investors in, we need to turn this around.

Only thing it seem to cut the costs is sell some players, get the wages down.
What about adm. costs, very high indeed--) cut

So what can we supporter do?
    Any suggestions?

Can EFC put more stocks out in the marked without the current sharholders loose to much of their money?
And what will the union help with?

We need a better business plan.

We have saleable assets i.e players these should be utilised better.

The start of the season we will most likely have £50million pounds worth of players on the bench 1 of these could be sold with 5 mill covering the loss and the rest going to transfers.

We need to produce and sell better youngsters.
This for me is 1 of Moyes biggest failings(apart from Coleman and Rodwell what youngster has Moyes produced in 9 years).

Admittedly we seem to have decent youth now but will they be given a chance

    My guess is unlikely

Re-introduce an absolute maximum player wage cap at a sensible, affordable level... actively target and encourage still more merchandise sales from the fan base who don't regularly attend games and our foreign-based supporters... introduce loyalty purchase scheme for the shops/merchandise... are just three ideas that could be considered.

What's the sensible wage cap level I hear you asking. Well, it has to be at a level within our current income generation so that a. the percentage visa-vie income doesn't increase any more and b. stops the £5 million a year loss.

People have moaned all summer about us not having the £10 million to buy N'Zogbia for example... but it's not just the purchase price, it's the total package of wages over the course of the contract. Look at Aguero at City... £38 million to buy and close to another £40 million or more over 5 years - madness.

    1) a wage cap wouldnt work for one arteta is already on 75k a week, and if other teams are offering the higher wages the better players will go there.

    2) a lot of fans already buy merchandise every season and a lot of people who attend goodison can barley afford a season ticket, thats why the ticket prices are so low, the club knows if it increases by even £5 a ticket the numbers would drop.

    3) you can get all of the merchandise from places like play.com who have it at half the price everton direct do with free delivery guaranteed within 3 days.
everton direct takes 7 days to come through, the merchandise is more expensive and you have to pay a delivery charge on top aswell.

It's time to stop pi.ssing around. If the fans want money spent the way that they always do, put up the price of season tickets by £150 and pro rata for match day tickets. They will still be cheaper than the RS. If the fans cannot bring themselves to pay it then they should stfu........no business can carry a £5M loss each and every year..........

If we can't increase our secondary incomes, then the logical step would be to increase our main income ie ticket sales. I'm sure that no fan wants the club to go under, and if it meant paying a bit more on a matchday, or an increase in season tickets then I'd hope that fans would realize that it is the only way to sustain the club

If that's the case then the max age of a youth player who has came in since moyes has been here would be about 17???

    Ross Barkley?

    You've lost me.

Rooney was already here and settled in the youth team before Moyes arrived.

Since Rooney who else has materialised from the youth squad who has either succeeded in our first team or been sold for a worthwhile amount.

A loy of purchases have been made and brought into the academy (i.e coleman) but i can't think of one other who has made the grade in 9years of Moyes reign.

Whether this is due to lack of opportunities or not being good enough only 1 person can be blamed.

I dont think it's fair to blame Moyes when he employs Scouts etc. to find talent? OK, so it's up to him if he gives them the opportunities, but the players have to be good enough in the first place to warrant a chance.

We will probably start seeing the crop of youth coming through now. Moyes has been here 9 years, so his scouts will have been bringing kids into the academy from about the age of 8? That means now, 9 years later, they will be 17. Havent our Youth team just won something?

But what about the likes of Baxter/wallace who have been around for Moyes full term yet still don't get games.

Strikers like Jutki wahts his name and Spencer both decent prospect who failed to make the grade yet cost the club money.

We brought in 2 americans a coupl,e of years ago both disappeared without making a first team appearance.

Baxter and Wallace havent come on as quick as people thought they would. They are still only very young, but the quality of the first team squad has meant that chances are limited. We have got a very good reserve / youth team, and there are a lot of players who would need a chance. The likes of Duffy, Forshaw, Garbutt, Vellios, Gueye, Baxter, Wallace, but they wont all get a chance at the same time. So far Vellios and Gueye have stole the show, but maybe if someone gets injured we will see Baxter or Wallace get a chance.

So wouldyou prefer us to now buy new players or trust in the players we have invested in over the years.

Trust the players we have brought in. Buying new players doesnt mean it works out i.e. Bily, Beattie, Kroldrup etc. The trouble comes when players get a chance, but dont perform to level that is expected of them. Then the fans get on their backs, and expect the club to buy. Moyes is trying to do both. Bring in new players and bring on young players.

moyes had added great value to players..
cahill, arteta, jags, baines, fellaini, lescott, osman, coleman, beckford.. all these players are now or have been worth far far more than what they were when purchased!
so that in its self is just as good as bringing the youth through in terms of investment!
i just dont know why we havent sold anyone..
the club is the most important thing and if we are in such a mess then just flog jags to arsenal for £15m!
we have heitinger distin and upson was going for free! or just buy someone i.e. dann for half of what we would have sold Jags for!
