Galway Blue Nose said:The lad I believe is not good enough. That said, there are many fine pro's that came out of Ireland with little recomendation from the pundits here. Roy Keane being the most famous,he was told he would never make it and Coleman hardly set the League alight. When you take on lads from the Irish leagues you are taking a punt but I believe the money paid for them represents that. Bar Celtic and Rangers in the SPL there is very little difference in the quality betwen the Scottish and Irish leagues.
Ireland has produced many a quality player but I feel that the days when Ireland will have a team made up of at least four players from the top four teams of the English League are gone. Ireland because of its population is suffering but so too is England because it no longer has true quality in depth. Both teams have qualified for the Euros but mark my words even though England have the easier group Ireland will go further. Fighting Irish and all that.
