Damned if we do, Damned if we dont...

So, Bill Kenright has finally put his head out up over the parapet, and people are not liking what he's had to say.

People have been moaning all summer that we haven't heard from Bill or the board. He makes a statement and does a couple of interviews, and people are moaning at what he's said.

People are moaning that we've bought no new players in, but don't want to lose any first team players to fund these moves.

The banks will no longer lend us money and so we are basically at the limit of our overdraft. If we went out and piled more debts onto the club, people would be up in arms about stupid financial mismanagement (we're going to do a Leeds, Portsmouth etc.)

We want to offload some squad players, yet we can't if people don't want them or won't pay the money that we want (there's no point getting rid of yak, yobo etc if the money coming in is not going to be able to fund buying players who will add something to the team) and if we did sell them on the cheap that'll be "this club is terrible at transfers and we've sold players at a loss"

There's people saying we were stupid to give Arteta the contract we did last year (yes his season was way below par) however, how many of us were afraid of losing him this time last year, and would have slaughtered the board for selling him or not being able to negotiate a new contract?

We're damned if we do, damned if we don't

Funny how he shows his face days before our opening game.

Nothing like a good confidence booster to kick off our season.

Sick to the fcking teeth of this guy now

Don't get me wrong, this is not an "I support the board thread".

There's many things I'm not happy about, and it'd becoming more and more clear by each passing season that Kings Dock was our golden ticket. If we had had that stadium, when the Arabs came to look at premiership teams and the choice was a team consistently finishing in the top 6, or city, where would they have thrown their money.

I just feel that there's too many fans who want it both ways, but aren't prepared to accept that we can't have it both ways.

If Bill had come out and said this right at the start of the transfer window, would people have been any happier?

At least he's come out and said there are certain players in the squad who are unsellable, and I'll bet those were players that Moyes said at the end of the season "We must keep these"

I am not happy about what he has said, I don't think anyone is, but now he has came out and told us what is going on, I respect him a bit more. You aren't going to find any Evertonian who will say I am so happy now BK has told us the good news, but I prefer being informed about the ongoings at the club rather than being left in the dark.

He was never going to come out and say this at the start of the transfer window. He had season tickets to sell.

Even die hard evertonians would of thought twice about re-newing etc.....

The club HAS to sell X amount...... and nothing less than X amount.

i concur with BlueJayDee aswell , but we have a team capable of finishing at least 7th rather than a team fighting relegation , which is probably the only positive we can take from that interview
