Loss of desire...

Been thinkin' after the interviews I've been reading... There appears to be a complete lack of desire from the management and playing staff of Everton.

I know that this is perhaps "understandable" given the lacks of funds available, but really the lads have to look at themselves and ask some questions.

Howard - American national team number 1 (valued c.£9m)
Jagielka - Regular England squad and starting more (valued c.£10m+)
Baines - Regular England squad and statistically one of the best attacking defenders around (valued c.£15m)
Heitinga - Vice-captain of the Dutch national team (valued c.£9m)
Rodwell - Regular England u21 player and breaking into the national squad (valued c.£12m)
Fellaini - Belgiam national team regular (valued c.£17m)
Cahill - Australia legend (valued c.£12m)
Coleman - Irish squad (valued c.£6m)
Bilyaletdinov - Was a regular Russia national team starter (valued c.£6m)

After that you're talking youngsters/older players and crocks.

So, there's the basis of a starting 11 who are all deemed good enough to play for their national teams. Most of them have proven themselves at EPL level.

We are missing forwards. That much is obvious. What bugs me though is that these players, and the manager constantly bang on about not having money to add quality.  Moyes never really had money to add quality - when he did have money in the past it was after player sales. So, from Moyes' point of view nothing really has changed. He still needs to sell to buy.  It just comes across in his interviews that he's lost that spark. Maybe he does need a change of scenery.

What I can't forgive is when the players start coming out and talking about the financial situation.  What do they think they will do to change things?  Jagielka is the one who's annoyed me talking to the papers about no money.  I'm sorry but if those players I've listed above pulled their fingers out, and if the manager had some enthusiasm things might be better for us fans. I understand that they get interviewed and get asked their opinions, but they could easily swerve those questions.

Yes, we all want more money but at present its not their. My experience is that when players talk about no money etc their performances inevitably dip. I guess its just a job for them and excuses for poor performances make it easier for them. Remember the RS when they were protesting and they didnt like Roy Hodgson, they couldn't be @ssed playing and were below us in the league.  Psychology has to come into this and Moyes is giving off shoite signals. The players are giving off shoite signals. Something needs to change and in all of this, the players will go out and get results if their heads and the tactics are right. That all rests with the manager.

Moyes has a starting 11 that is worth more than a hell of a lot of premier league teams, there really is no excuse for the cr@p they are playing at present.

I haven't spent a lot of time on this - apart from typing it - but essentially we have the nucleus (or more) of a good team but show poor tactics and no ambition. The lack of funds has become an excuse for poor performances. Yes if BK secured funds then it would be great, but the manager who is responsible for motivating players/selecting the team and the deciding the tactics we employ just isn't performing.

Basically, Moyes needs a steel toe cap up the backside; or the sack.  Who else is there?  I don't care. Anyone, just as long as they play some strikers and motivate the players.

It would be nice as well if we had players valued over 4m+€ on the bench, it wouldn't just rely on the players on the pitch. But the spirit needs to be inspired somehow, including the fans!
