The problem is that people have came to expect too much of him. If we started him every week the fans would expect him to work wonders, but he is only a 17 year old lad who has not long came back from a broken leg and hasn't played a lot of football since then. I think Moyes could maybe play him a bit more but I wouldn't expect too much from him for the reasons I have gave.

i think its exactly the case that Barkley aint playing. We've probably already agreed a sale in January. Same with Rodwell, played ok this season, got in England team, did'nt look injured when he played for England yet now has some mysterious injury. Bet he's been marked for a sale too.

He's not that good yet but he will be a great player. Although he can't be much worse then Phil Neville.

Please write a list of all the 17 year old who have been hyped as much as Ross this season - and not just by fans who are desperate for any good news we can get!

Hype doesn't mean he is or should be more physically or mentally developed than other 17 year olds as evidenced by the fact the lad fell apart after unluckily conceeding a penalty at Blackburn.

Plus. Every club always has their hyped up kids. Even Chelsea with McEachran who's older than Barkley. We ALWAYS have one or two. So does everyone else!

    Ross Barkley
"Gutted about the result today an not getting on but signing new deal next week so that's something to keep me smiling, ..."

I agree completely, I just don't think we should expect too much of him YET.
