Looks about right.. He's not responsible for the whole back four, you can only judge him on the individual parts.. Check out the crosses, accurate crosses and goals for which he is wholey responsible..
Enrique doesn't have CB's cocking things up on a regular basis so the clean sheets etc is a non calcuable figure for an individual.
He's not the tallest so its true, he loses things in the air fairly often, then wins them back as soon as the ball hits the floor, its what he's always done.
By far the most influential player we have and more than capable of running any opposition ragged.
lol at Enrigques dirbbling.. really? He's like Maradona according to that.

problem with baines is, the team is so poor at the moment he has to do everything, free kicks, corners, and if he doesent get forward, thats literally half of our attacking threat gone.

the problem with that is you get too predictable and the opposition can counter this by counter attacking when baines is upfield, we conceded many goals last season and some this season due to baines errors.

we say when we played united, ferguson deliberately played valencia and he kept on getting forward, meaninng baines was penned in at LB.

against the RS, they consistently played henderson at RM, when we played them daglish played kuyt there instead so that he could doiuble up on baines when he got forward.

So yes baines is effective but the way he plays also leaves us light at the back.  he doesent have the intelligence ashley cole has knowing when to go up and stay back and defend,

This season he has found it harder as opposition teams know how he plays, Id like someone to tell me how many assists he has in the league this season

With a decent striker putting away some of the crosses he has put in though it would be a lot more.

there havent been that many crosses.  i think hibbert has crossed more or nearly as many as baines has from open play.

as I said the opposition knows what threat baines has, and playing at Lb plays in their hands as it leaves a gaping hole in our defense when he attacks, as Dm fellaini should cover but doesent, meaning distin has to and jags is left in the centre by himself.

Like I said baines may get assists, but we also concede a lot of goals due to his mistakes aswell, you dont get as many mistakes with cole or evra

stats stats stats...we seem to have become a game full of stats nowadays....

everton had 95% posession but lost 1-0 !! big deal we had 95% posession....but lost ..the main stat in football is how many we score against how many the opposition score !!

agree with some of your points tkts...we are now very predictable..

but this point you made...sorry way off the mark here m8...if my defensive midfielder covered my full back i'd go ballistic...as he would leave a mighty hole in centre of my midfield/defencive line ....

"as I said the opposition knows what threat baines has, and playing at Lb plays in their hands as it leaves a gaping hole in our defense when he attacks, as Dm fellaini should cover but doesent, meaning distin has to and jags is left in the centre by himself"

the defence moves across as a unit and the DM covers the space in front !! if it's your left back caught forward by the break the left sided midfielders role (if the full back is advanced of him) attempts to cover hole left behind him...

ye but that doesent happen.  baines goes forwards and then osman or bily go into the centre to try and get onto the end of the cross.  meanining no one at left back

watch from 2.38 kalous goal and you will know exactly what I mean about baines

right.... the point your trying to make with that goal is invalid as ........was we had just had a corner that baines took on the opposite side of the field..that left us wide open to the break as we only had nevill and distin back....our dm ie fellaini is well in advance of play as is rodwell and arteta..there's no way baines is gonna get back ino position from taking the corner !!! even (useign ??) bolt couldn't recover from that position....ffs...

Don't care what those stats say ...I would not swap Bainesy for any of them , and given the choice of the 5 managers responsible for those players 4 of them would agree with me ..... and the other one would be lying :)

Baines has been stuck as a more traditional full back this season because he doesnt have a strong relationship with the player in front of him - keeps changing and neither Bily not Drenthe has really clicked with him just yet.  Drenthe was starting to show an understanding but...

If he doesnt have confidence in the player in front of him to help out then it wont work will it. Think thats why Moyes criticised Drenthe's failure to track back.

A lot of our play has been down the right this year, so I would expect that a lot more supply has come from that side. There's nobody to put em away though so nobody is getting stats for assists etc...

In summary, it is Everton's lack of a first choice left winger and an lack of understanding between Bily/Ricky and Baines that has meant he is less effective; more so than other clubs singling him out...
