See I think its a case of mistaken identity. My name is Davies and I said I'm available. Obviously some hack heard that a big time "charlie" called Davies might be signing. Easy mistake; and I am good...

Charlie  Davies was the most exciting player to be added to the USA national team. Started on fire in france and then had the horrific accident. Unfortunately hasn't recovered to previous form and probably never will

Wasn't he the lad who near got killed a few years ago in car crash ?

I bet the lad thought his luck couldn't get any worse after that then he goes and gets linked with the most boring team in the world

This correctly sums it up. If not for the car crash, he would already be doing well in Europe. His year at D.C. shows that he has made some recovery. Not sure what level he can really play at now though.

Did this car crash effect his knees?

If so, I'm sure he'd be keen to learn from one of the world leading knee injury specialists that we have at Everton...King Louis.

Davies himself suffered a lacerated bladder, fractured right tibia and femur, a fractured elbow, multiple facial fractures, and bleeding on the brain.

    quite a list that

The crash was fatal to another occupant of the vehicle, and it's amazing that Charlie survived.

(From Wikipedia): On October 13, 2009, Davies, who was in Washington for a World Cup Qualifier game against Costa Rica, was a passenger in an SUV that went out of control on the George Washington Parkway and struck a metal railing at about 3:15 a.m., tearing the vehicle in half. The accident shut down the George Washington Parkway until 8:15 a.m. that morning. The accident killed a 22-year old woman who was in the car with Davies, while Davies himself suffered a lacerated bladder, fractured right tibia and femur, a fractured elbow, multiple facial fractures, and bleeding on the brain.
