Posts: 98December 2011 I don't think there's any doubt the liverpool 1 development enhanced the city centre. It brought in much needed money and girls.

Posts: 6,719December 2011 I like to be able to park without taking out a mortgage, walk around without being hassled by tramps, god nutters, big issue sellers and scruffs hawking cheap rip off junk from disgusting stalls. Without stinking hotdog vans, where I don't tread in chewing gum or have gangs of orange teenagesluts pushing and shoving me about. Yes, theres some nice buildings although they've even managed to screw them up by overdeveloping the waterfront. The Trafford Centre is a little ugly to look at, it may be out of Town, but Manchester also has a City Centre which again has better shopping and better hotels than Liverpool. You may disagree, I don't care, I know a lot of scousers who shop in Manchester, How many Mancs shop in Liverpool? Anyway, keep up your petition. I don't visit Liverpool much anymore, I don't visit Manchester much either but if I have to visit one, I know which I prefer.

i asked a few of the woolyback birds in my course why they wanted to come to liverpool and believe it or not they said one of the main reasons was liverpool 1... its regarded as one of the best outside london
think of all the money coming into the city from that- if thats a frequent reason for students coming into the city then why complain snowcone??

Posts: 98December 2011 Personally I think the waterfront looks better now than it ever has in my lifetime. Manchester is 10 years ahead in its regeneration thanks mainly to the I.R.A bomb in 1996.but I still think Liverpool knocks spots off Blandchester, that's just my opinion though. Manchester may be marginally better for shopping, it's not something I'm greatly interested in. I know many mancs who regularly come here for a night out, for the theatres, museums etc.

Best outside London? No it isn't. All the money coming into the city? The councils skint, theres nothing in Liverpool One for the average scouser. Another reason I shop in manchester, you can't buy decent gear in Liverpool.

Posts: 98December 2011 All councils are skint not just Liverpool. What on earth do you want to buy that is only available in Manchester? Your statement "there's nothing in Liverpool one for the average scouser" ignores the fact that it is always chocca with average scousers buying stuff.
