Why do people say that he has a good first season and then he loses interest? His goalscoring record clearly shows that this is not the case at all. The first year he came to us he played almost every week and scored plenty of goals as he was given an extended run of games in the team. But surely you all remember he had a serious injury in his second season, and he was out injured for almost a year. This was the reason why he never scored as many goals as he did when he first came, not because he lost interest. And don't forget that last season he was out of favour for us, which is why he never managed to get back to his best.

Because in previous teams he has started well at clubs and then become a bit rubbish.
Bottom line inury or not, he simply wasn't good enough at Everton, he was certianly not the player he is now and the move was needed for both player and club.

yaks problem was he never ran around and just lazed around in the box.
he was effective if the ball fell to him just look at the weekends goals- but the issue was we never had enough power going forward to get the ball in the box!!!
