What excuses does moyes need? When we sold Yakubu he had done nothing for a season and a half, was overweight and looked like a shadow of the player we payed 11 million for. Just because he's doing well now doesn't mean moyes was wrong to sell him. Was ferguson wrong to sell Forlan? No. At times players need to move clubs to get back to form, new club, new training and new surroundings. So moyes was right to sell yakubu.

Moyes never gave Yakuba a chance when he came back from injury....Moyes doesnt like attacking football thats why we sell forwards and thats why he hasnt given Velios and others a proper go at it.  Selling Yakubo is one of the worst bits of business Moyes has done.

Yak was worse than awful for us, he was never going to get a game because even Anichebe was as good as he was let alone our half decent players.
Glad he is doing well to be honest. Doesn't hurt he is in a more attacking line-up but the position they are in reflects this. Its fine scoring goals but if you leak more goals than you score.. you don't do well. That's why Moyes plays us the way we do.

One look at how he's done at all his clubs speaks volumes. I remember when we bought him from Boro, and there was a phone in on Radio Merseyside, and a Boro fan came on and said, enjoy him while it lasts, he'll be a revelation for a season , then you' ll see what he's all about. Lazy, cant be bothered, will score if it comes to his feet but wont go looking for it. Thats basically what we got. It was the same at Pompey, they got fed up with him there. No doubt it will be the same for Blackburn, but you cant argue, he will wlways score goals, just dont expect him to go looking for them, and that is, at the end of the day a goalscorer, selfish. Moyes or most managers these days dont want that, they expect more out of the present day Striker......

That's different and you know it. He has scored in the championship against poor teams, while Yakubu is scoring for a poor team despite not having very good service, and I'm sure the Coventry lad never cost us £12M and was sold for £2M.

Still wouldnt have got rid of him...he scores goals and more to the point some games he'll get more than 1.  Out of the last 3 hat tricks scored by an Everton player Saha got one, guess who got the other 2.  He still wasnt given a fair go by Moyes.

He is a goalscorer, he always has been and he always will be. And the only reason he never ran around all game was because he was overweight, it wasn't because he didn't care in my opinion.

Moyes buys good strikers and makes them poor.

However he buys average defenders and makes them gravy.

Moyes buys average defenders and makes them Frankincense.

Moyes buys lower league/oversea's no-body's and makes them Gold.

    Merry Christmas everyone.

He's getting good service because the whole team bomb up the pitch to try to score.. hence the poor defence of theirs.

I just don't understand why moyes can't grasp that strikers dont want to have to play like a centre mid, just further up the pitch. Strikers shouldn't be running their arses all over the pitch, they should be putting in the effort in the final 3rd and getting in the box.

Yakubu has a record of having a great 1st season at a club scoring 20 plus goals each time. I bet you a pint that he'll be dog **** again this time next season.

That's what ruined AJ in the end.... As much as I like Moyes, he's lost some decent players due to them being played out of position, AJ was definitely one of them. I know he wanted to go back to London as well, but if Moyes had just kept him as a striker, he'd have been here longer. Was gutted when he went.

I'd rather play Hibbo at centre forward than Yak . At least TH is proud to wear the blue shirt and not do a Yak and wobble his big fat posterior around the pitch for +£40k/week . I'll bet my biffy that in a months time Yak well be on the bench at Blackburn , again , for doing sweet fanny adams in every game. ..the same as he did at Leicester , 'boro , Portsmouth and us . Moyes saw through him as every other manager has before him

Lets face it I've said it before on here and I'll say it again, DM just doesn't like strikers, How many as he gone through in nearly 10 years? I don't think he give them a chance, Beattie, AJ, Yak, Beckford, Bent, Vaughan, Chadwick, to name a few off the top of my head. if the goals dried up for a couple of weeks that's it, your on the bench.
I'd love to see a home game with a 4-4-2 line up with Stacqualursi & Vellios on from the start

    ...........................Tim
    Hibbo,...... Jak,...... Distin,......... ..... Baines
    Colman,.. . Rodwell,... Barkley,....... Drenthe
    ....................Stracqs... Vellios...

    Hahnemann, Pip, Cahill, Osman, Saha

why people rabble on about the yak having "poor seasons after his first" are clueless mongs, he done that with us because of the injury other than that his record at boro pompey is far from poor, bunch of weirdos. wasnt given a propa run in the team when he comne back from injury enough said,
