I think he's good enough to get a lesser Premier League team or at least top Championship team. He needs the experience and I know a lot of you are going to bite my head off for saying this but he so poor defensively that he does need some practice in order for him to become a better player. I have no doubt he'll be a great player when he's older but as for now he needs training and experience.

He doesn't get a game for a reason. He's only 17 and his lack of experience has been visible at times. He has got talent and I know you're all gonna name younger players playing like Wayne Rooney but he played upfront where if you give the ball away it doesn't matter as much.

He's gonna learn sweet FA sitting on the Bench every week. It's better he gets some games under his belt.

I see where you're coming from with this and I do think it would be beneficial if it were to another premier league team. However we're not really in much of a position to loan players out who are part of the first team seeing as we have so few first team players as is.

Theres a reason only the top clubs with an abundance of players do this.

He's only got 2 starts this season and 2 or 3 substitute appearances. And Moyes come out and said he doesn't want to play him too much so let him play more often at a lower level.

I don't think Moyes would do that. You send him on loan for a month to say Birmingham, for the course of that month, Birmingham will get as much as they can out of that lad with no regard for his long term well being. There's no hurry no developing the lad. Patience!

I agree moyes needs to decide one way or another. He's good enough to play for us, but won't learn on the bench. If he isn't going to be played, he should be loaned.

have to agree dan , loan him to southampton till end of season with call back agreed if we need him due to injuries or other disaster but not another prem team just yet as we might aswell play him as sub

People forget that he is coming from a massive injury and coming back into the prem for an experienced player is difficult (Yakubu, Hargreaves, Valencia, Arteta) so expecting a 17 year old to play often in a league which is a big step up from reserve leagues is a big big ask so it's no surprise he's being used sparingly.

Thing is he's not 1st choice and he's not exactly going to break into the starting 11 this season. Let him progress elsewhere for half a season and then we can monitor his progress in the summer.

exactly look at the top teams who loan out their young stars to progress knowing that if they dont , they wont progress getting 5mins here & there

you cant burn a kid of 17 out too soon. i think when ppl saw him at villareal they thought hed just walk in the side but youve got to remember he still hasnt fully grown yet.
hes good enough to be a regular first team player tho of course just gotta settle him into the side by giving him a run out now and then. every season you gotta give him more playing times eg half a match then gradgually as a full time player.

look what moyes did to rooney- kept him fresh by not burning him out. at euros everyone else was knackered and he was just outstanding. then went to united and ferguson just played him every game i think hes burning out and past his peak tbh.so moyes is doing righ thing if we loan him now its too soon cos hes too young, at 19/20  maybe yes cos hes fully grown by then

It's a small squad already and can't get a game. Loaning Barkley is the best thing for him. I'll simply put like this what's better for the lad sitting on his @rse watching football or going out and playing football?
