Posts: 24,197November 2011 excuse for a day off and a get together then??it'll catch on over here eventually then just as halloween eventually did.its like xmas in my sisters house around halloween time now with all the decorations up etc. its crazy

if its a day off and a decent meal mate im all for it. how about starting a petition see if we can make it into a public holiday?? imo, we need one around late oct/nov time, its a long way from august to the end of the year imo like -
Posts: 19,499November 2011 We should have Harvest Festival day off in September, then Samhain (Gaelic harvest festival) at the end of October. Sure I could rattle something up for November an all.

haloween came from the ancient Celtic Samhain and Roman Pomona festivals I have you know!!
The yanks just brought all that trick or treatin **** to it!

We have a bank holiday last Monday in October. Breaks the time nicely! -
