Everton Ready To Swoop On Tottenham To Solve Their Scoring Problems

Everton are in the hunt for a striker and could turn to Tottenham’s Roman Pavlyuchenko who is looking for first team options.

Pavlyuchenko has found his chances at Tottenham limited since the arrival of Emmanuel Adebayor and has spoken of his desire to leave of regular appearances in order to secure his place in Russia’s Euro 2012 squad and its thought that Harry Redknapp is prepared to allow the 29-year-old to leave and Everton are thought to be making moves to sign the player in January.

Pavlyuchenko has only made two appearances in the league for Tottenham this season and has made the most of his appearances in an inexperienced Europa League squad and in recent times the Russian has said “I have to do something in the transfer period. We’re ahead of the European Championship. If I don’t change (my club) then Euro 2012 will be played without me.”

Everton will be keen on a loan deal for the player and Harry Redknapp would welcome the move as it free’s wages for him to sign another striker.

Decent player Pav but he's got a habit of scoring from 30yards and missing from 2.

He seems like a decent pick up. I would be nice to get a younger player though.

I like Pavlyuchenko. He is getting on a bit - he'll be 30 by January. Considering Tottenham spent £14 Million on him, and his contract expires at the end of next season, I'm sure they'll be looking to sell him - or at least loan him to someone who'd be able to afford to pay, and who'd be willing to pay a good wad of cash for him in the Summer. You can be sure they're hoping to get about £8 Million back for him and we would never and should never spend that kind of dosh on a 30 year old.

But if we did manage to get him on loan in Januray, I'd be delighted!

Statistically he's a top striker! Scored 9 league goals last season but only got 18 starts. Good record in the Champions League last season. 9 golas in only 12 starts the season before

I think with a run of games, he'd bang em in!

Statistically Mikel Madar and Jermaine Beckford were good strikers for us...

interesting although I doubt we'd go for him. Not sure #Moyes is keen on doing business with spurs and he's too old too.

Plus, him and billy hate each other....although that might not be an issue by jan!
