The Modern Striker

He needs to defend from the front, close down the defenders, drop back and support the midfield, pick the ball up from deep....etc

I always thought they were attacking midfielders!

I would be happy to sign a lazy goal poacher who makes the right runs and plays off the last man ie Lineker. Our problem is that our strikers are expected to work hard and you end up with Tim Cahill playing up there. I would like us to get some one who is only judged on goals and not his workmanship. Beattie, Johnston, Yakubu all started off well for us scoring goals but then we wanted them tracking back.

Moyes please play with a goalscorer and players that can create chances and leave the defending up to the competent defence we have.

You'd need someone to turn round to DM and say "sod off, I'm not running myself ragged, I'm paid to score goals". You can imagine how that would go down...

The only player allowed to be lazy up front for Everton is Anichebe.. and at present Saha

TBH I don't think Moyes knows what a striker is.  ;-)

The way that Moyes rates Anichebe so high shows just how little he knows about strikers.
