watching sky sports news when they had there transfer round up, showed a table of what teams had spent, we were bottom being only team not to have spent anything, i bet if they included the 4 divisions we would nearly be bottom, im sure most clubs have spent a few quid on someone, probably some amateur teams spent more than us :-)

There will be a lot of clubs in negative spend mate, don't worry, we are better off than many teams, besides, all but 6 or 7 teams have to spend very heavily to even get near us, that's why we are skint because of we kept the same team that has done so well before hand.
Its cost us a lot in wages and we are not recouping our money from these players so we are skint but with a good squad.

    Net spend means nothing

it means were skint and cant compete with any teams in the premiership.

Well, I think you'll find that, in net terms, there are many many teams who have spent the same as us, and a number who have actually spent less than us!!!

If pounds balance means anything whatsoever, Arsenal are worse off than us I think

Remember this cjohno at the end of the window and, at the end of the season.

"it means were skint and cant compete with any teams in the premiership"

Is this what you really meant?

there are no prizes for competing in the transfer market

    no points to be gained

you'd have thought - two weeks ago - RS had won the league, they've just been trying to catch up with Everton

True, there are no prizes for competing in the transfer market, or any points gained and, I understand where you are coming from.

Isn't that part of being a bluenose. Things will happen!

    We won't win the league.

Europa qualification maybe, but only if the cups are divded between the top 4.

    We won't get relegated either.

Watch Sunderland come unstuck. Where's all their money coming from?

The worst thing that could happen is for DM to be offered a job he can't refuse. God forbid!!!

Since end of last window - Jan 2011 - we were third best team in the league - FACT

Of the players who RS had signed and immediately became first teamers, which would have done the same at Everton?
    Henderson - nope
    Adam - nope
    Left back - nope

    Perhaps Downing.

the rest aren't catch up players, they are make do with players. About £40m spend on players not good enough for us.

I could also mention that thier talismanic players Gerrard and Carragher are on thier way out too.

on last season ADAM defo we were stuck with heitenga or neville in the centre some games and on last seasons form pretty sure adam would of been playing ahead of rodwell. we didnt need a left back so cant put that name in,henderson was pretty much on par with rodwell probably slightly better(which isnt great) but im pretty sure he would of been getting games in the first team so pretty much all of them would of been featuring in our first team last season apart from there left back.

Nice too see, although we havn't spent/got any money, the 40 million spent across the park will have to be paid for somehow. The sale of Torres was probably the best bit of business they have done, but that won't save them when the banks come calling. The players they have will keep them in the top half; wouldn't mind betting that we finish above them. So its not all gloom and doom. Like everybody else, I would like to see some players coming in, but we will just have to trust DM, because BK will not let us fall further into debt, than we already are. Then where do we go!!!

the thing im still trying to figure out is we had our best team for a decade they had their worst team for decades and they finished ahead of us.

they have now added to their team in areas that they needed bar centre back (but it isnt like agger of skrtel are bad players) and have a better back room staff and that means they are now catching up to us?????????????

thats like many city fans saying dont worry about united they are still catching up to us, they arent on our level yet.
