Attendance

I know it's been said a lot recently, but an attendance of less than 34,000 today is seriously poor.

With the international break, Rodwell played well for England, as did Jags and Baines, and an optimism that we would win, I thought surely there would be a bit more than 34,000.

The BU aren't helping matters like, but I'm shocked the attendance was that low today

a lot of people just don't have the money to waste. is it value for money, when times are so tight?? After today's performance I'd say definately not and playing a team of wolve's calibre, who really are a poor side, it isnt worth it when you've got kids to feed and a mortgage to pay. and christmas is coming up.

Absoloutly right, you have to understand the state the country is in, and its not going to get any better soon. The walk up crowd is going to be poor for a while, and its the same at all clubs. Everton are doing as much as they can to put numbers on the gate, there are so many £15 and £5(kids) tickets to be had and believe me or not but there are freebies going out to schools, clubs etc.....

thing is, with money tight, fair play to Everton for keeping their prices down - one of the cheapest in the premiership i believe.
One of those things - people moan that the club doesnt invest in players, yet our attendances are down (even with the low prices).
Football costs are just spiralling out of control.

Worried that in a few years time, when the Sky deal is renewed, if no one else can match them, what happens if Sky offer a lot less than they pay now?

aye howie. Bar someone coming in and just giving us money to spend, i do wonder where some of these fans think the cash is gonna come from (when they are moaning we haven't bought anyone).

problem is, we've taken out loans previously against future earnings....once that happens, your pretty much fooked unless you can get a new steady income (IE we get a shed load of new fans from signing a high profile player, or a new sponsership deal).

They coul' ac' like a professional ou'fi' for a star'....the club,no' the team.

An' fans like you coul' stop a.r.se likin' people like Elstone who are responsible for the si'ua'ion we're in.

Unfortunately I didn't go to the game today, as I was working and have already had several Saturdays off this season to watch Everton (I've only missed Chelsea away and today's game). I was gutted that I didn't go and it's the first home game (pre-season, Cup, and League) that I've missed in three years. But our attendance reflects the standing of our team. Look at City, they're flying high, and their attendances are higher. If we were top of the Premier League, we'd be pretty much sold out every game. It's just the way it goes.
