How i'd line up on saturday....

Presuming everyone is fit of course.....

                              Howard

    Coleman  Jags   Distin    Baines

             Neville   Fellaini

    Drenthe                      Gueye

               Rodwell

              Saha

Subs: Cahill, Heitinga, Vellios, Mucha or Hanneman, Barkley.

Coleman and Baines getting forward and over lapping the wingers putting pressure on wolves from the out set.

Rodwell should be high on confidence from England duties so get him up there supporting Saha and looking to get on the end of crosses from the FB's and the wingers.

Drenthe cutting inside from the right and looking to unleash bombs from in and around the box.

Saha pulling the cb's this way and that to make space for Rodwell coming in.

Jags is getting a chance cos im hoping the Spain game has given him the confidence boost he desparately needed and Neville is playing cos there is a few young lads in my team so we have a voice of experience out there keeping everyone cool, calm and collected.

When we are 2 0r 3 up after 65 minutes, Barkley can replace Rodwell. vellios for Saha and 15minutes to go take Neville off for Johnny as the legs will be getting tired.

I fancy us to win 3-0 or 3-1, goals from Saha(2) and Drenthe.

wouldnt work with him a RB though Milks cos that would take away my tactic of getting the FB's over lapping the wingers.

We need some experience in there and that is his role!

    I can see the logic

But nev's experience would be better on the sidelines from now on.

Also we are playing at home so playing with 2 defensive midfielders would send out the wrong message.

We need to be attack minded from the off.

    I would play
    Howard
    Coleman Heitinga Distin Baines
    Fellaini
    Drenthe Rodwell CahillGueye
    Saha.

    4-1-4-1

Id play the original posters formation, but swap Neville for Rodwell and have him playing box to box, and play Cahill behind the striker.

In recent weeks when Cahill hasn't been playing, we've been struggling to get the ball up the field, and as soon as he comes on he bridges the gap between the midfield and the striker so much more effectively than any other player. It was evident in the game where Vellios started with Osman behind him, and then when Vellios was subbed for Saha around 56th minute, even Saha was struggling. As soon as Cahill came on, Saha looked more alive.

o/p.. 2 x defensive midfielders and another in the AM position with 1 up front... are you trying for a narrow defeat here, I don't get it, whats the thinking?

edit: Didn't see his comments already but what Milky said basically.

Wont work, Rodwell behind the striker? he cant even score 3yds out centre of goal and no keeper.............think even Timmy would have scored that mate.....

    Vellios - Saha

    Drenthe                Coleman
    Fellaini - Rodwell

    Baines - Distin - Jagielka - Hibbert

    Howard

Bring Cahill on as an impact sub because he was subbed on against Fulham and I thought he made the difference.

I would be looking to exploit the width of the pitch. Molyneux is the narrowest pitch in the prem and they play compact. Think the best way to beat em is to play wide and swing balls into the box. So, I'd be looking at two up front or Timmy in centre mid hitting the box late.  I'd prob play Drenthe on the left and really ask him to work with Baines. I'd play Sheamy on the right because he's good enough to get at their full back.

We need to go 4 4 2 at home...........

    ----------------------------Howard---------------------

    Hibbert---------Jags--------------Distin-------------Baines

    Osman--------Rodwell------------Felli--------------Drenthe

    -------------------Vellios-------------Saha---------------------

I would bring on Barkley or Denis or even Gueye if need be and I would tell Saha to stop playing so deep!

What about when one we put a cross in and he is still standing on the wing or in the centre circle? And I wouldn't mind as much if he would do something with the ball when he comes deep to receive it.

Saha comes so deep because the five man midfield sits just in front of the back four...
