do we miss lescott more than we realise/wish to believe?

    in the season 0809 when lescott and jags were in centre mid, defensively we were very solid at the back. Teams struggled to score against us and both players were excellent, as they were yesterday for england.
    but when lescott left we struggled a bit imo and have not been as good since. Distin and Heitinga came in. I think distin is the better defender out of the two, but what if the change unsettled the defense and sort of caused a negative effect on jagielka where he perhaps struggled to be as effective with a poorer back two partnership.
    Also does anyone else think that we miss lescott?? it hasn't really crossed my mind until yesterday, but he's starting to come back into form for city and clearly england as well. I honestly do think we'd be stronger with jags and lescott still at cb . opinions??

    Well mate you might as well ask "do we miss Rooney/Arteta/Pienar" of course we do but fact is we couldn't afford them so they're gone, end of !

    Distin is better!!! Although Jags and the elephant man do work well together

    yeah but my point is when he left we kind of (or perhaps just me) forgot about him quickly and thought he was not that good anyway cos he was so bad at city at first. now though that he's playing better for city and for england I'm starting to realise how much we do miss him.

    I believe that Distin has proved that he is just as good as him to be honest, but I agree that Lescott and Jags were good together. I don't think anyone can have a go at Lescott for leaving Everton though because he has done very well for himself.

    Lescott played with Jags when he was at his best, Distin has had to cover for Jags for months... He's getting back to himself now but his injury made him half the player he was. Honestly I think with Jags injury we would leak just as many goals with Lescott as with Distin.

    carsley was fantastic for us wish we had him instead of felliani now , we wouldnt look so vunerable at the back as we do with felliani strolling around.
