    Hope they do well, but what has happened to local scouting these days. I was always told and indeed still told that the local leagues in L'pool have the best kids around, is it not true anymore??? Thats 3 or 4 kids weve taken on in the last couple of months, none of which are local talent.....

    Nah mate, think I maybe took you a bit literal, guess I'm not really sure what you meant then. I would find it a lot mroe likely that a broader search would bring in more decent youngsters than a local one is all I was saying. I am sure there are decent footballers from around here, we have one already coming through, but I am glad we are spending a lot of money of scouts around the globe.

    Fair enough, your opinion, just saying its a shame were not hearing of kids from merseyside joining the club, maybe it just doesnt make news........

    I don't know much about how the youth setups work but I'd have thought that us signing local talent wouldn't make the news because we aren't signing them from anyone if you get what I mean.

    Happy with the way what's going? We are signing young players for the future mate, and we are not the only team that is.

    Ah but the players signed for the future in the past are just now starting to stop being players from the past to become players of the now and the future... or something.
    Barkley, Coleman, Vellios Fellaini and  Rodwell are all young players that are coming along nicely and are playing now (except Barkley who imo should be).
    Agree with Howie though, its a shame we can't get more local lads in but if the quality is not there its better to get better from elsewhere.. I think the local lads give a little extra in the Derby matches though.
