DISGRACE!!! 120 years down the drain............Just imagine if Kenwright did that, Bill Kenwright PLC Arena..... I would be outraged.......What are your thoughts pilgrims?History is being wiped out because of money..... Way its going everyone will be changed soon, even clubs names...We will be called - Mersey Blues Dynamite and Stadium will be called Pukka Pie Arena....I will stop supporting football and become a fully pledged alci if this happens..

I agree. I'm probably one of the few on here who actually likes Newcastle, kind of a second team for me in the PL, and to see this happening to them is a disgrace. Sir Bobby would be turning in his grave over it. -

Posts: 2,329November 2011 I heard about St.James Park being renamed after Newcastle's Chairman's SportsDirect Arena, on the Radio this morning and thought what a SHAME.
I'd feel the Same about Goodison Park
ps Newcastle and Sunderland supporters are so Loyal because...............who else are they gonna support? -

You are right King, it does seem a shame to turn your back on the history that a team has built and an icon that fans have loved for generations...this is one of those times where the need for change and money is not a change, I as a fan would welcome.

Firstly it's only temporarily called the sports direct stadium as a "lead in" for bigger and better companies ith more money
secondly...i'll bet once newcastle are getting £20 million naming rights and are going out and buying £20million players every year the fans will forget what the fkk it was called in the first place..and still call it st.james' park anyway !! -

The naming rights thingy is also a way of people getting round the wage structure that is coming in soon -

Yeah, but Arsenal had moved stadiums, so it's a bit different. Considering SJP is still the same building, I think it's a bit shoddy to rename it after so long. -
