Jags has been poor all season but who can we replace him with? Distin is the only good defender we have at the moment, and Heitinga has been given his chance but he hasn't taken it.

Heittinga has not exactly had a run, Distin was awful when he first arrived. Could be good to see him after 3 ior 4 games with the same partner.
Get well soon though Jags, don't like any of our players being injured, they never come back as good.

He has played three games at the back and not taken his chance in my opinion. I think both Johnny and Jags have been awful this season but Jags is probably the best of a bad bunch.

    Stick Rodwell at the back.

Jags is a quality centre back and he's a terrific tackler/ ball winner. He's not had a great season this year neither has ANY other player at Everton. As for xreyuk123's suggestion of sticking Rodders centre back I have to say I'm not a fan of it. 50% of the game at centre back about experience and decision making and Rodders has played their in a few friendly and he's just not experienced enough. It's too easy to drag an inexperienced centre back out of position.

I think Jags has a bad start to the season, but the last games he was good. No reason to drop him!!!!

annoys me how clueless supporters can be....... If you have any knowledge on football or ever played the game at a decent level you will know that you MUST play regular in order to become consistent.  Heitinga has NEVER held down a regular place due to his versatility, he is consistent for the dutch side due to knowing he is a regular starter in the same position.  If he was given a regular run, at least 10 games we would see the Johnny of old, he was immense before the world cup for us.

Same with jags, he cant be immense ALL the time, he has been since the day we signed him, this break might do us all some good...

The other thing people can't work out is Heitinga is right sided CB soplaying him left side won't suit him.

Heitinga and Jags are too small a pairing for it to work.

Heitinga is by far a better passer of the ball than hoofball Jags and partnered with the height of Distin is by far our best option.

The stats back this up as well

My point being Moyes teams normally perform better when he has limited choices of players.

We mproved last year once Jags ,cahill and Fellaini got injured.

I think we played better when Arteta was out injured.

I rather like Jags, I hope he heals up and comes back stronger.

Put Anichebe at Centre-back, he's a proven record at keeping the ball out of the net!!!!

Distin and Heittinga could well be a decent setup after a couple of games. Honestly I don't care who is at the back providing we can start getting a couple of clean sheets.
