Despite his move to a 'bigger club' he still cannot get in the Spain team. Serves him right for being an **** when he left.

He is playing reasonably well for Arsenal and I am glad about this. But I still think that the club did the right thing in selling him and he isn't the same as he was before his injury. But good luck to him though and I hope he gets into the Spanish squad one day.

Arteta had the right to ask to leave, it has only real chance to big CL, he's not a young pup anymore, but makes me a bit sick the fact that we went and give him a big wage then left, whereas Pienaar was almost crying to stay if we'd paid him. and now we don't have either .

Think Pienaar left for the money.

    Had no intentions of staying

Same as Fellaini is doing now

he did leave coz of the money.. the money we didnt gave him !?!?!
he was happy enough, we were moving in right direction, there was  nice link-up play down the left that was almost unstoppable.
and with Coleman on now playing it would have been a nice balance to the team.

I will always think of Arteta's time with us, with a smile on my face, the classiest ball player we've had for years.
Time will tell whether the move was good for him or good for us.

Its weird really with Arteta, he was immense for us until his injury then not even one of our better players after that. He needed to move if only to revitalise his motivation to play as well as he could.. However he completely screwed us over slapping in a transfer request an hour before deadline day.
For me in order of stitching us up:
    1. Gosling - Went on a free, took advantage of a loop hole and screwed us over completely.
    2. Pienaar - Went for nearly free, refused to commit to leaving or staying until it was too late, lost us a lot of money.
    3. Arteta - Got an offer, it was refused, put in a transfer request with less than an hour left of the transfer deadline.
    4. Lescott - Let Moyes know he wanted to move to a rich club for big money with big prospects, Moyes refused, he put in a transfer request, Moyes refused, Lescott threw a sulk to get what he wanted.. got it. At least he gave us time to buy replacements and some warning that it was going to happen.
    5. Rooney - Nothing really wrong with Rooney leaving except the once a blue always a blue - red Rooney speech. Got us decent money, let Moyes know with plenty of time he was leaving, went to the league Chapmions, played well throughout his time with us.

    This I like.

He is a player any club would be proud to have.

He also was proud to play for our club.

Its what we need now a mobile quick playmaker, however Arteta wouldnt be the answer if we had him now, he'd gone stale, lost any pace he had, passing had gone sideways and we all know his dead ball was poor. He was a joy to watch when he was at his best though, and now playing in a total football team will help him back to his best except his pace.

I can't remember when we had as good a footballer playing for Everton. Can you?

And I can't see us having as good anytime soon.
