Takeover? Do you know what...

I really wish that we didn't need or want a takeover!

The money in todays game is ruining it.  Just look at man City and Chelsea before them (and Blackburn a few years ago), nowhere, until they get the cash and then suddenly they buy everyone in sight and mop up the trophies.

I honestly don't want to win that way.  Whats the point?

Why don't all of the chairmen just sit down at the beginning of the season, compare their bank balances and allocate the trophies and league places accordingly.

Football is rapidly destroying itself and I for one am gradually falling out of love with it.

What I would like to see is the super rich disappear off and form the european league that they really want and let the domestic league be reformed with proper financial constraints and controls and become a competition again.  I believe that this will happen in the end but it will probably take a few more years and a few more "portsmouths" before it does.

Get rid of the big 4 or 5 or 6 or 7, bring in the top two from scotland and let the rest of us have a competition.  Game on..

    Thank you for the welcome.

I am a regular reader but rare poster (1st time on the new forum).

I'm sure that there would always be a hierachy in any league and I suppose if I'm honest I do think we would be in the upper echelons of the new structure and thats perhaps why I favour it but it would be nice to see sides competing based on football skills, mamagement ability, player development etc rather than just cash cash cash.

I don't much like them but good on Newcastle for being where they are at the moment.

What I really want is for Moyes to win a trophy or two then for us to become rich, just so we had the.. yeah but we won without it anyway stance.. As it is, City are spending a load of money to win silverware that means nothing, they may as well just spend 500quid on a good quality replica, no one will be impressed when they do win, in fact the whole league will heave a huge sigh of depression.. I don't think they will win the league this season despite their start though to be honest.

Yeah but they don't count as people. Everyone being skint or minted works for me as long as everyone has at least a glimmer of a chance.

hello BM. ive said on here for a long time that this league is a waste of time. all the clubs out side the top 4/5 have only the league cup to win and relegation to avoid. all your comments are true and well put. here is my final top 5 finish for this season: 1, man c; 2, man utd; 3, chelsea; 4 arsenal; 5, RS. how predictable is that? both other cups will go to the mancs, or chelski, arsenal. yes hopefully they will all sod off and give the rest a chance, unless a nice billionaire comes along. well if you cant beat them- join em!.......................everton in my heart!

United will bounce back, city won't go like that all season and if they do then they will be another Chelsea, good for a bit then go stale and get overtaken by the next lot.. I still don't think they will win the league though.

I know exactly what you mean.  Going to watch the game at the weekend was as much about seeing my dad as the blues.  I have hardly watched this season on the telly, it is depressingly predictable.  I think it encapsulates modern life beautifully, my local green grocer did a roaring trade with fresh herbs and spices, despite being 5 minutes walk from Asda.  Asda caught on and now undercut him with similar produce.  When he goes to the wall they will crank the price back up.

    Welcome to hegemony hell.

I think that we have to keep up, and if you can't beat them you have to join them. I think that Moyes has done well for us but I think even he needs a little but of money to move forward, you need money today in football. I hope that we will have some investment in the club one way or another, its about time BK found some after looking for 12 years don't you think!

with city's strike force and utd's not so good defence, maybe city will shift the power of manchester for a while. as for the champions league barca are looking likley to win it this season.

We have to find investment is all that I have heard for about 3 years now, but the club claim they have been looking for investment for 10 years! The club have to be doing something wrong, as teams smaller than us have been sold but Everton the 4th most successful club in English Football hasn't!

To be honest, I think that BK would be happy to sell the club now as the fans are losing patience with him. But the club have to be doing something wrong. I think that the stadium could well be holding us back, but how can a club go 10 years without finding any form of investment!

I really don;t know mate, I could be anything but the club must be going wrong somewhere. Maybe Earl and Woods etc are asking for too much money for there shares, or maybe Keith Harris is doing f**k all in finding investors...........
