I would sell Cahill

He has done well for us but I would sell him now if the a decent offer came along. I think he is past his best and he is nearly 32 now. But the main reason I would happily sell him is because he always goes off to play for his country and he seems to come back injured every time. Sometimes he goes to play for them in the middle of the season and he comes back injured, and we have to pay his wages while he is playing for Australia.

I also think that if Cahill was sold Moyes would play 4 4 2 more often, and I am sure we all agree that 4 4 2 is better than 4 5 1 with Cahill playing just off the striker. Cahill has done well for us and scored some crucial goals, but I don't think he is as important to us as he once was.

    Anyone agree?

    1) he has already said he will go to australia once his contract is up
2)which means if anyone signs him it will only be for a 3 year contract and no return in investment
3)moyes will price him out of a move anyway, he wouldnt let him leave for less then 10m

Timmy always has a knack for scoring dirty goals...if no steps up to consistently score, you have to keep him and pray he stays healthy.

I personally think Cahill epitomises EFC, tenacious an' punches above 'is weight like. I think it's unfair to the lad to 'ave a go over 'is patriotic commitment like. 'E's always been honest abar where 'e stands on this an' all parties signed the relevant paperwork with their eyes wide open like. 'E's a true blue in my eyes like, 'e's also a proud Aussie.

no point in selling him, wont get any money for him. when he plays he lifts the players around him and he lifts the fans spirits more than any other player we have

Barring a bad injury, I think Cahill will be our top scorer this season!

Having said that, I also think the Everton team as a whole score more goals when he's not in it!

I think whilst Cahill is not the most gifted footballer in the world, the two most important things about football are as follows:
    1. Scoring... Which he does as well as anyone else in the squad
    2. Not conceeding and anyone who actually bothers to watch Cahill after he heads one off the bar or something will probably agree, he is straight after the ball and will chase it into our own penalty area, something our other strikers wouldn't do, he has cleard plenty of crosses in our time which may lead to less goals scored but helps to give us more wins and that is what we need at the end of the day.
Also I think we are poor 4-4-2, we did well against Spurs last season then got dicked by some average teams just as badly as we did 4-5-1. The only difference is we give them the ball for longer with 4-4-2.

we did ok without cahill last season when he did not play but still a great player to have in your side and the young lads coming in look up to him.

No. Cahill is not a legend. Not in the true sense of the word anyway.

We as a team play better without Cahill. He stops so many attacks with his poor distribution and 10 headers a season does not make up for that.

I'd stick him on the bench and bring him on if we were desperate personally.

Howdy, Stranger!
