Everton in talks to solve money woes with Indian backers

    image

Everton supremo Bill Kenwright is in talks with the Jain Group – a wealthy Indian company – about becoming his club’s financial saviour.

The Mumbai-based conglomerate are huge in their own country, with energy and property businesses, and they now want to expand into England.

Jain have their sights on Everton as a possible project, pumping in cash for a new ground.

Leading officials from the company are looking into ways of buying Everton or lending them money, with Kenwright kept on in some capacity – and boss David Moyes given a boost in the process.

The Toffees have been on a tight budget for a few years and Kenwright is actively looking for a buyer or backer.

jain tick all the right boxes from a commercial point of view. they are in real estate, auto's and finance. but whether they are right to run a club like EFC is another matter.

we'll have to wait and see.

There's a protest coming up on Saturday, so what's the best thing to do? Why, break a takeover story of course!

Nice to see some people on this forum on the ball for once and not falling for the same **** again and again.

its not just the protest, fellaini delaying his contract, crowd numbers down, half season tickets due to go on sale.  It amazes me that kenright has the balls to keep on doing this.

he usually uses the same old crap its either a takeover or he gets his best mates cahill moyes and andy gray to big up the club in an interview and say how well the club are doing under the circumstances,  even more amazing is the same people who fall for it again and again.

I agree with them wanting the best, but when people start saying that the club are making up stories because the BU are going to march, well come on, you know what I mean... it doesnt do the BU any favours.

Erm the club have been making up stories for years Will. Fortress Sports Fund , Kirkby will be a top class stadium , Alan Shearer (ok was Johnson) Alan smith , I'll never sell Wayne Rooney as long as I am in charge of this club.

Theres a few examples of the Club making up stories

I put that down to BK's over exuberance,  rather than an intention to mislead the fans. Lots of deals come to the table all of the time, but its knowing not to say anything until they're signed up. BK just blurted it out without crossing the t's and dotting the i's.

This story has come through different means and has been bubbling away for a while... it hasnt come directly from BK's gob.

I just wanna be positive on this one.  If what is being said is true, then the BU will have helped to bring it about, so I'm not going to be over critical of them. They're blues and want the best for the club.

I'd like to believe this, I really would but it just smacks of desperation. I'm actually not too keen on the idea that they want to keep BS Bill on 'in some capacity' either..... Would just rather he went altogether. Something I don't like about him.

If he stayed on as chairman, then he could stay on just as a mouthpiece. Do all the fawning all over the cameras when we make it to cup finals and all that. He's a theater lovey, good for the cameras.
