Why did not Howard play?

    If he was not injured, I think this was a big mistake from Moyes not to let him play.

    This cup is probably the only thing we will have a good chance to win this season.
    Going further in the cup would bring in more money and a Europa Cup spot next season?

    you cant expect a keeper to play every game of every season.

    howards 32 now and plays all of those games for USA.  he needs a rest now and again, and is the reason we have 3 keepers

    a rest from what standing still for a game, keeps dont need rests, hency why most good goalies play untill there late 30's.

    BIG mistake playing mucha.

    yeah i never get the resting keepers thing not like they do much, only thing i can thing of is they do take some risks trying to get the ball e.g sliding into to a running attacker or something and when they dive they probs get winded when they hit the floor. but yeah mucha was a mistake

    Mucha's played in r other cup games this season you cant drop him just cuz its chelsea! how many of u have said play mucha when howard makes a mistake? i can think of a few! You cant put all the blame on mucha we had plenty of chances to finish them off!

    Doubt anyone has called for howards head after a mistake because the other 95% of times he is class, where as mucha has looked dodgy everytime he has played

    Its funny how Moyes said he will take this cup seriously yet he doesn't play his first choice keeper. I actually think Moyes got everything just about right last night apart from resting not playing Howard.

    What a load of s**t. Why should a keeper should someone who spends most of the game standing still need a rest. And who cares if he's 32, Nigel Martyn played until he was 39/40.

    This, but a good team out and played mucha, fair enough against the lower teams or teams we exptect to beat, but yesterday was a real chanc to progress and send a top team out. feel sorry for mucha like he made a couople of good saves but you cant get a chance and mess up twice like he did

    Ted Sagar played until he was -50-, and was still one of the best around at that time in the 1st Division.

    I agree, I doubt we will see much of Mucha again.
