Posts: 194October 2011 personally, id prefer to seem him as the anchor man rather than behind the striker as a target man. for one, hes pretty lazy (esp over the last few weeks) so sitting in front of the back 4 , mopping up seems to fit his style. besides, even tho cahill has been lacking goals, his work rate alone and aerial ability make him a better target man. Even tho, i personally believe that cahill is past his best, he is our best man behind a striker.

he was our best man not done it for a good while, altho hes behind striker primarily he needs to be scoring, cant remember last time he scored. try barkley, billy, or osman, if not then play 2 upfront :-)) -
Posts: 4,669October 2011 His best position is defensive midfield as he is good at breaking play up in the middle. He is certainly not an attacking midfielder and I think Moyes only played him in that position because of his height. He did score some goals playing off the striker but he is better at breaking up play in the middle, and I think we miss him when he isn't playing.
