Posts: 97October 2011 well thats just a bad comment, hes young and as moyes said hes still going to makes mistakes due to his age (17) and them mistakes will be on the field in the prem league which could cost us matches and points. how about we leave him until december'ish then start playing him constantly let him get sum full reserves games and what not

But he won't start playing regularly from December onwards though, he hasn't even been making the bench the last couple of weeks, even thought he is supposed to be our best young prospect since Wayne Rooney. I don't think it would be fair for him to play 90 minutes of every game, but you have to give him at least 20 minutes at the end of games if we need someone to help us get back in the game. Of course he will make mistakes and of course we don't want to put too much pressure on the lad, but if you can play football it doesn't really matter how old you are does it? I believe that he should be given a chance ahead of currently under performing players such as Cahill and Coleman. -

well said this man, its the same with vellios, yes they need game time, but its obvious to see they are rough around the edges, so we have to break them in slowly.

Your sounding more like David Moyes everyday! There is such thing as bringing a player on slowly and such thing as taking the pi$$! . Moyes was quoted as to saying that Magaye Gueye was his "secret weapon", but he has kept him so secret that he has barely played for 2 years even though he has impressed every time he has played. He is right in taking his time with these players but there comes a time when you have to say that we need to play them. Vellios is our top scorer this season and he has scored more than all of our other strikers put together, yet he hasn't even started a game for us!
