We could afford to build the place and keep it but it would have hurt us on the pitch, it would have affected the players Moyes could buy or keep.
So we financed the situation at a profit to the person lending us the money (anyone know of a business or bank who would give you money without making a profit?), using the finished facility as security, in order to keen Everton's money on the football pitch and not in the training pitches.
The company who did the deal now want to sell the deal on to another party but the clauses are still the same for Everton FC.
It is laughable....its laughable how people get worked up over it while not understanding anything about it.

depend what your perspective is mate, if we keep hold of it, and make 1.2million a year out of it, in 10 years we can buy a decent player for 12million, if we lease it out and get 15million upfront we can spend the money now, does that not make sense when we need the money???

If we did own it then, it would be better for us to sell the lease for 'x' amount of years, getting the money upfront would it not?
