Posts: 19October 2011 Get drenthe signed on a pre contract by January.
IF we had 7 mill for instance id buy:
Vagner Love for 6 and send a young cb to get experience playing for them. ( their looking for a cb)
Sell Anichebe for 1 mill.
Send a scout out to look for a new rb preferably an english one. Ready to buy for under 2 mill.
Play 4-4-2 and then 4-2-3-1 against the top 2,3 teams.

The players either side the / symbole represents that the better player who plays will be down to form.
Obviously their is room to change players such as osman instead of billy or cahill and rodwell instead of fellaini or gueye on for coleman but these too me would define our 2 strongest line ups and teams.
I would sub barkley on every game or every other game and start him and gueye in carling and fa cup mathces unless we get a top 4 team so they can slowly get edge into the starting line up because i think barkley will be a major player in 2 years max!

Posts: 8,869October 2011 4-4-2 is a dying formationI wouldn't buy Love I'd personally go for a creative midfielder/ playmaker. But you do show some good ideas, more then most on here ;)Welcome to the blueroom.

Posts: 19October 2011 aha cheers dan ive been on here a while i just dont post , i think weve got a creative midfielder in billy if he plays more central he looks like he can set something up in the handful of games hes played down the center hes looked clever and with a run of games his confidence will be boosted so he will be able to deliver precise passing and through balls for vellios and if i was manager love, Weve got osman Billy and barkley for cm creativity and weve got a few more midfielders so i feel another permenant one would be a waste of money and wages maybe a loanee.

Posts: 8,869October 2011 I'd also like to see us sign Drenthe especially why we can get him on a pre contract as of January. He could be a great freebie!Barkley as talented as the lad is he's very naive defensively although in time he has the potential to be world class. IF he plays his cards right and keeps his head down.I'm a massive fan of Bilyaletdinov and Osman has been fantastic for us but they're not fully capable of playing centre mid IMO because Bily has a habit of being lazy defensively and Osman is very lightweight. As attacking mid I believe both have them potential to be very good players but I don't see Moyes dropping Cahill.I like the look of Vellios and I think he deserves a few starts because the only way Moyes can get a useful new striker is by spending most of our transfer budget on him. You never know when Stracqua man gets a run of he might impress and we could sign him.

Dan- I think if we play felli preferably or rodwell with bill/psman then we should have the defensive cover if the tactic is deployed right. -

Posts: 19October 2011 yeah but arteta didnt seem to have the legs towards the latter stages oh his career expecially in his attackin side of things he usually just decided to hold the balll up and pass to someone else instead of doing his occasionall break that he shouldve done all the time and passig it through to one of our strikers to shoot thats why osman could do this because he is forever running and billy seems good on the attack when he was playing down the middle in pre season

As I said previously I think both of them make a good attacking mid but they don't have the all round ability to compete at centre. -
Posts: 19October 2011 yeah well have to see what our funds allow us to do in January then in the summer depending on how good vellios is from now till Jan will decide for me whether we decide to spend a large chunk of what little money we will have on a st or a cm but i think we need a decent right back to be honest
