Surely due to being 14th in the football rich list for 2011, this man should be considering putting money into the club? Can anyone identify a possible reason why he won't? He's worth £1.2bn for goodness sake, he could buy the club multiple times over! He's already involved in the club so why not??? Surely he could buy the club AND clear the debt, leaving us in the black and able to buy players?

Surely this is the man who is a viable option to take over from Kenwright?

So, he buys the club for say £70m , clears the clubs debts say £50m, then gives Moyes £100m for new players , so what exactly does he get as a return on his investment of £230m ?? You don't become a billionaire by investing just for fun !

No you don't but you could say the same for the likes of the Sheikhs at City, what do they get in return for their investment?

Yeah, that's a good argument, but it's just annoying that we've got someone on the board with more money than Kenwright with a few bob to spare and won't invest it in the club. Actually, we have two people I'm led to believe, was it Robert Earl who's something like 39th on the rich list?

Yeah fair enough, and as someone else just said to me, it's probably that he doesn't want to p*** it away in a football club which I wouldn't argue with but surely if he didn't want to do that, he wouldn't even be on the board?

Thing is, you can make that arguement up for ANY potential buyer!

Thing is though, can you really blame anyone for not wanting to part with hundreds of millions for the honour of paying Tevez and his agent shed loads of cash a week for him to train with the reserves?

Think you've got to have a good reason to invest in a prem club. Be it exposer to the western market for when your oil runs out or a safe harbour to salt away you money should the Russian government try and take back that which you stole.

Outside of those two examples, you'd argue that the Glazers we right to believe that Man Yoo were under valued on the stock exchange and that Liverpool were sold by the bank for zero plus debt.

In all cases while making money might well be the aim, in none of those cases is the aim to make money out of the general run of being a football club.

I don't remember seeing Grantchester's name on the books....He ain't on the board any-more, is he?
Thought he had nothing to do with the club any-more and wouldn't concern himself with the club while Bill is here.

May be wrong, but I'm sure I'm not....

It has been said that this guy will not put money into the club while B.K. is around.
We also have a second board member with loads of money, she will not put any  cash into the club.

The Sheikh's have all sorts of other deals in place with middle eastern companys (naming of the stadium rights, shirt sponsors). Obviously doesn't make up for the cash they have ploughed in though

Just put yourself in his position and ask the question Why?. There is no sensible reason to get involved for what would end up being hundreds of millions, just so a load of ungrateful fans can watch a load of overpaid and undertrying players who don't give a toss about Everton Football Club. Clubs like ours need to be owned by the fans and then you can put in as much as you like. Of course if the fans did own it, you wouldn't see anyone supporting giving players more money or shelling out on stupid transfer fees.....

All true. However most owners, even majority shareholders, are,to an extent benefactors and,by and large, are prepared to take a hit in the greater interests of the club.

His family did so,apparently,in selling out to P. Johnston but were unimpressed with his tenure.

His mother,in particular, was not prepared to invest any further.Fair enough for the reasons already stated.

However, and it's a big however,we still have two other major shareholders who refuse to invest a brass farthing in the club and also refuse to explain their interest in retaining their shareholding other than to make money from it.

Three....if you include our beloved chairman.
