1340: Sky Sports sources understand James McFadden has arrived at Everton's training ground ahead of his proposed return to the club. My Everton snout tells me David Moyes admitted an interest last week so this one could be a goer. RK

This is what happens when the chairman stops giving the gaffer money for players.

Looks like its going to happen.

Seems like a strange on to me, saying that he will have an impact off the bench.

Still think he should have gone to Celtic and been a hero though, in stead of coming back here for a bit part at best.

Poor Jimmy McFadden! Although you would have to wait until you can sell him. You can't sell someone in the same window (or even season) you bought them. Trust I found that out the hard way.

There might be method in the madness though.

Baines and McFadden or Gueye down the left... given that Drenthe might not sign for longer.

Fellaini and Barkley sign new deals.

Sell Billy in Jan for 7-9 million... they'd still pay that if they were Russian.

Do a Lucas Neill with the lad. Get him for free and sell him for a profit.

    That was Beckford.

I'm thinking this is a new variation. Sign him for free to replace Billy on the bench, sell Billy for more than McFadden was ever worth.

Wish Billy had of worked out though...

Same, I think Bilyaletdinov had a great attitude off the pitch. He always said the right thing and often shown 'flashes' of brilliance.

I think mate if we could get 6 or 7 million for billy, that would be enough to strengthen in other areas. (Drenthe and Gueye can both play LW so he is surplus for me anyway)

Same with Heitinga, if we could get 5 or 6 million we could bring in somebody that could cover at the back. (Onouha from Mancity cos he can play anywhere across the back and get him for 3million)

2 players out, 2 in, and still have money from this summers dealings to strengthen next summer if we could get a loan midfeilder aswell in Jan to help out Felli and Rodwell.

I think that could give everyone the boost the club needs.

    I like Drenthe.

But to be fair, we've got to see more of him and see if he signs a longer deal too for him to mean anything to us what so ever.
