Posts: 229October 2011 Anyone know what position Billy was playing in tonight when he scored for Russia. I know Andora are a poor team, but would like to know if he was playing on the left wing, on the right or as an attacking mid.......curious, as I think he might be more use to us (goals and creativity) if he wasn't playing on the left all the time.

Posts: 172October 2011 He was substituted for a RW. Not sure if he played on the right though, as he scored from a central position more to the left on the field. Agree with a run in CM to see if he can be utilised properly.

Yep, either a run as CM or RW for at least games (at least 60 mins play time per match). I would be more interested to see how he does as a RW again cos in the long run, Barkley, Ossy and Rodders are all going to get preference over him for the central positions. And maybe playing as a RW would allow him to start scoring again, utilising that left foot of his.At least that way, we are giving him a chance, and then we can either keep him if he does well, or if not, try n sell him for whatever we can get, come january. -

Good call, but if he's got nothing better to do than spend on crap, why ask for only 3-4 mil??? 30-40 mil surely for a regular Russian international, who has played in the Prem...... -

Yeah. RW is probably all he can hope for. Would be a good variation if he or someone else was instructed to lash of a few more shots. The Baines or Coleman cross is going stale.
