Posts: 38October 2011 Everyone is banging on about the state of the national team
So here is a radical idea for England and international football! What about creating an international super league above the premier league and Champions league. The best English Players would then be contracted and paid by the national team to play in a weekly international league.
They would then have the chance to work together day in day out, young players coming through would then have more chances in the domestic league to express themselves!
Would it de-value the World Cup, maybe or maybe not but doesnt the premier league and champions league already do this?
England in theory would become a super club which the whole nation supports, the pinnacle for any English player with the best endorsements, the best contracts etc etc
Fans would then have two clubs to support, double the chance of seeing a little success, I also feel this would help make the domestic league become a more competitive league which would see other clubs having a better chance of winning. More focus would be on local talent too!
The game would then be about talent produced in a country rather than what you have in the domestic leagues where the clubs with the most money simply dominate!
just putting the cat amongst the pigeons!

Its a wild idea I know, but the domestic game has become boring, the international team is poor!!
My preference would be for the domestic game to be tweaked and become more competitive, as it stands I'm not interested in the Premier League as much these days. Its a false economy and Everton will continue to have the same old stories year in year out! Injury Crisis, Not enough money, starting poorly, BK Out, Best players leaving, new owners, need a new stadium!!

Been listening to stan collymore banging on about international football on Talk Sport, winds me up! England will always have the same problem unless it becomes the centre of sttention again!
But then again I'd rather support Everton in a league which it had a chance of winning!
