How come if this Government is Hell-Bent on trying to pay back the 'So-Called' deficit, it decides to plough £75bn into the Economy?????????? Beats the object doe it???????

Surely the answer isn't as simple as printing MORE Money???????

I'm 19 and i don't really follow the financial situation thoroughly. but one thing is for sure- there IS  a deficit! Labour spent all the money and went mad when gordon brown came into power. Why? because it kept everyone happy and he didn't want to be the one making all the unpopular cuts because then what chance would he have had in the 2012 elections?
however injecting 75billion into the economy,I've not been around long enough to know what effect that will have but times aare gloomy like

I think the general idea is that if the banks have more money, that makes it easier for them to lend to us, and at lower rates. This will then "hopefully" enable the public to spend more money helping growth in the economy, and also increasing revenue for the Government via VAT etc

    (I think)

As was said, it will help recapitalise the banks and give them a healthier balance sheet, so that they will lend to small businesses and the economy grows. I hope it works.......

But, the banks [dont have appetite/are too scared] to lend

subtext - they dont have anyone working for them anymore who has the nouse to make a decision; because theyve been run down by salesmen for the past ten/fifteen years - I'm sure you've been involved in the borrowing game: applications do about 20 circuits of the banks various departments before they land before credit approval and by that time enough doubt has been cast that they say no, or leave it to gather dust!!!

So basically, Banks & the Government are a Law unto themselves???????? Why don't they just put £500Bn in "Happy Days" LLM
