How much are we missing Pienaar?

A radom one this but we've never looked a balanced side since he departed. No-one so far has been able to link up with Baines in the same way and having tried Billy, Rodwell, Coleman, Osman we've not yet found the right combination. I know Saturday wasn't the best situation but even Drenthe started the "let's wander inside" act leaving us lacking in defence and not giving Baines an outlet when we did have the ball. Thoughts anyone?

Bainesy and Peanuts had a cracking relationship down the wing. That's where most of our creative promise was from. Hope Drenthe can form a similar relationship - early days at the moment trying to get some time on the ball.

He was arguably our best midfielder, and he always gave his best for us. I think Osman and Gueye could do a decent job there but none of them would be as good as Pienaar.

sorry yes I'd forgotten Gueye, I'm hoping we find another player to partner Baines, it's starting to make him look uncomforatble defensively as well.

Even Drenthe could do well there if he is given a chance.

I wonder how much Pienaar would cost us now.  Isn't he like 3rd choice LM at spurs?

if that. I said, even before he left, his best attribute was his partnership with Baines. Pienaar is a sorry state these days he struggles to make the bench.

Cant force a partnership like he and Baines had...it was just a natural flow and understanding between the two.
Wheeler dealer 'Arry thought he could buy that.......but once again, the fat bulldog faced **** thought wrong.
And Peanuts went for the *cough money* champions league football *cough money*........

Ive said it before, and i wont apologise for saying it again. We have to now start playing players who fit the role, not players you feel safe with, which happened on Sayurday. 4-5-1 is fine if you play it right, at the momment and indeed as you say since Peanuts has gone we are predictable with the system because were not giving ourselves different options within the system. Now it is totally dependant on full backs producing the killer ball from out wide, and at times they are crossing when no one has even arrived in the box. My thoughts are that Drenthe and Gueye should be the wide players, they can take on players either out wide or inside, while still using the full backs if needed. They can both provide the crosses , passes and most important of all shots on goal. So you see the 4-5-1 then works for the creativity, unpredictability and far more positive approach, whilst they both also have pace and are grafters.
    So a midfield of
    Fellaini
    Gueye Osman Drenthe
    Cahill
    Vellios or Saha or Dennis.......................

    WORKS

Nothing whatsoever, prefer garlic bread though. Just wanted to point out why we dont need him when the answer to him not being with us is there anyway. God were going to have some great chats in Jersey mate............

To be honest, he can **** rot for all I care. He moved to Tottenham for the money, he wouldn't get a game there anyway.

Don't think we were balanced with him in the side, we look just as good now as before but Jags is leaking goals at one end and we are not scoring them at the other, the bit in between where Pienaar and Baines linked up is still the same to be honest, be it with Drenthe or anyone else, they only have to stand there with the ball for a few seconds as Baines whips past.
My problem with Drenthe is that he wants to go himself so Baines will get less opportunity but stick him on the right and we are looking good.
