"People's Club To Paupers Club"

Browsing some of the local media near me, found this article in some two bit newspaper type thing, shows even fans of other clubs are frustrated for us too. This from a Blackburn fan:

    People's Club To Paupers Club:
Whilst we at Blackburn berate the owning of our beloved club by a bunch of chicken farmers and cringe at our lack of movement in the market (only 2 players in so far as we speak), spare a thought for the long suffering fans of those down the road on merseyside.
No im not talking about Liverpool, they seem on the up again (unfortunately!), im talking about Everton. Oh how David Moyes hair must be going from red to grey. Most in the game would not envy his task. Trying to keep a side that has'nt really brought a new player in of worth for 2 or 3 seasons, in the hunt for europe and honours.
Tough ask......No extremely tough ask. How when all the clubs around you are splashing the cash, strengthening and improving, Moyes must continually perform miracles with the same old stagnating squad. Unable to offload the likes of Yobo, Yakubu etc and with no funds available you can sympathise with Moyes and the fans.
Some may say Everton are not a big club anymore. You'd be wrong. After all they are the 4th most successful club in english football, yet seem on a very real and dangerous downward spiral.
Most of the media would have you believe Bill Kenwright has 'saved' the club and has its best interests at heart. Anyone with half a brain looking from the outside in would have to say where is the real evidence of this? After all the clubs debt has increased significantly, Goodison Park, although one of the best grounds for atmosphere, is a dinosaur, extinct, crumbling and way past its prime. A new stadium they say is a necessity. Everton fans would argue the fact teams like Sunderland, Stoke, Leicester have all had new stadiums yet dont even get close to filling it. They still have money to spend. Everton always get at least 30,000 per home game, yet are in danger it seems of becoming another Portsmouth. Mr Kenwright has promised a new stadium, but his two attempts so far have been nothing short of inept and a disaster.
Moyes will have to face the thought of letting some of his 'big name' players leave in order to survive and even then he may not get the money to spend. How long before one of the brightest and best managers in the game gets fed up, frustrated and seeks pastures new?
Then theres the fans, a proud bunch who pride theirselves on their history and knowing their game. They deserve a club that matches that.
So whilst we can moan at where the cash for players like Phil Jones went, berate our bad luck for getting a bunch of clueless chicken pluckers as owners and moan about our 'hoofball' way of playing, id say spare a thought for Everton....one of english footballs greatest clubs, sadly it seems on the demise.

Didn't think that was an unfair opinion in the original post to be honest. Our woes are pretty well documented and there is nothing shocking or controversial in that article.

Am slightly warming to Blackburn fans after seeing some of them wearing chicken hats after their last buy out.
