Suarez... Winners mentality or a cheat

Suarez!!! Difficult not to question his morals.
From his blatant cheating in the world cup, to his poor sportsmanship shown today, and in my opinion the sole reason why Jack was dismissed unfairly.
For me, some players border on a willingness to win at whatever cost and a willingness to win within the laws of the game.
Tim Cahill makes for a good example, although not the most technically gifted player in the league, one that has a competitive edge and a willingness to win within the morale code that all players should follow.  Tim would use his brains and his brawn to outsmart and gain an advantage on an opposing defender.  Being very successful in his methods, able to outfox defenders, spring above others and bury many off his chances.  Thriving on the atmosphere and showing a confidence only equaled by the resounding support shown by the faithful fans packed in to Goodison week in week out.
Hats off however to a then manager Sam Alderdyce of Blackburn.  Big Sam pulled off a master stroke before the encounter with Blackburn back in March 2009, by questioning Tim's methods and claiming he cloaked fouls on defenders to gain an advantage.  Since then It seems Tim has questioned himself and as a result has lost that edge which has made him so successful in the past.  I can only hope Timmy realises his code of conduct is beyond reproach and realises he must gain that competitive edge back.
Point being It seems it pays to con refs and win at all costs, If this is the case then these so called players Suarez, Eduardo are going to become more and more involved in the modern game.
Although Suarez scored today helping his side to a 2-0 victory, "football" lost.  After much build up and anticipation for a merseyside derby, one that was beginning to have all the hallmarks of a goalmouth to goalmouth bonanza, it was ruined by one bad decision after just 30 minutes of action.
Although I have thought to myself do we need this type of player "Suarez" to win games.  I sincerely hope that If Moyesy was offered Suarez tomorrow for nothing, I pray he would say no.  For we are Everton FC Nil Satis Nisi Optimum.  I would take Tim Cahill over Suarez every day off the week.

doesnt matter what suarez did the ref was 2 yards away from the incident, it was a basic easy decision, doesnt matter about suarez, referees ruin games week in week out now , their total ineptness is ruining football as much as the cheats. so suarez over reacted, so what weve got proffessional referees now to monitor games yet they do not understand football and are totally wrapped up in there own arrogance that there beyond reproach, its disgraceful referreing that should be booted out, but they just hide behind this total arrogance week in week out, sack him and punish players who constantly cheat , we see video evidence of cheating constantly but what happens a big fat nothing, but do something like a bad tackle off the ball and the authorities use video evidence, the football authorities allow cheating its become part of the game sadly .

Agreed but the technology needs to be during the game so the team are punished not the player afterwards. The ref might get sack and Rodwells card over turned but it does not give us any benefit as we will have still lost 2-0. If a player cheats and is then suspended later it does not help the team he has cheated against

well to be honest referees are arrogant cheats, i have a family member who played in prem last season, one referee failed to give them 2 blatant penalties one game, the next time he refereed them a few players pointed out in the tunnel before the game that they should of had 2 blatant penaties the last time he refereed them, you know what his arrogant response was before the game!!! "WELL YOU AINT GOING TO GET A PENALTY TODAY EITHER" as he took the pitch smiling, that day on match of the day they highlighted 3 blatant penatly decisions they never got, the only way the ref would of given them a pen would be for the centre half to pick up the ball in the box and bounce it up and down, dont question a referee there beyond reproach and total arrogant and wrapped up in there own self importance, they think there bigger than the game now and a law unto themselves.

I was going to ask if it was Atkinson as a joke. I always try and put mistakes down to human error or incompetence but starting to wonder.

To help take the focus off refs, big decisions should be made by a selection of officials (Who cares if it means matches finish 5 mins later then they currently do.

Football is really behind the times when it comes to officiating games.

i agree with you to a point, but we cant really take all the controversy out of the game, lets face it it keeps us busy on forums and gives us talking points in the pub. just finding a nice balance and knowing football authorities no chance of that.

suarez cheated, but what were people expecting, MR T to barge through and throw a snickers bar at suarez,

Should of got in at half time and come up with a strategy, Teams have been down to 10 men before and won,

Yeah and I'm pretty sure alot more teams have gone down to 10 men and lost, regardless of if they had the benefit of half time or not.
