Fellaini situation

7 months now since contract negotiations started, there a good chance he may not sign so what do we do.

    1) allow him to run his contract down over the next 2 years allowing him to sign a pre contract jan 2013 and leave for free.

2)IF he still hasnt signed by christmas rate him at 15m and allow him to leave if a team comes near that price (even if its only 12 or 13m)

    3)  allow him to stay until next summer and then sell him for around 8m.

    Not introduce him to you.
Im going to enjoy what we get out of him, not worry about it now when the season is a month and a half old. We've still got Europe to go for, we've still got the Carling cup to go for, we've still got the FA Cup to go for, and your worried about getting rid of our best players now!!!! God it must be miserable and a nightmare to live with you.........

    What would you do Tickets?
I think he was the best player we had today, I doubt we can keep him but with the time left on his contract I expect a Pienaar situation caused by a lack of clubs signing and a lack of player signing with nothing we can do about it.

player power thanks to mr bosman , here is what he got for his ruling -

Ironically, Bosman himself was left bereft by his far-reaching court action.

He started his case in 1990 when he was 25 and in the prime of his
career, was left in limbo for five years and then, one year after he
won, he had to leave third division Vise because he said he could not
make a living out of it.

He is now reduced to living off his court indemnities.

Bosman's lawyer Luc Misson says: "He gave his career to a court case to
    serve a cause, but
he sees that the transfer fees are still there, quotas on home-grown
players are making a comeback and the rich clubs are richer and the poor
    ones are poorer"
so only winners were players & agents which has in effect wrecked football for the average fan & sky heaped on more gloom for the teams outside top 4 by contributing top money to top teams through live tv revenue & disregarding everyone else.lesson is rich get richer , poor get poorer simple as all around the world

the problem is there are no teams that desperately want him.

we knew a year in advance that redknapp was chasing pienaar, but there are no takers for fellaini.  ancleotti was after him but has now left.

personally I would wait until jan and see if there is any interest in him, if there is quickly get a deal done, and not have it drag like pienaars did, even if it means making a small loss.

But is suspect fellaini will give the old "I will wait until the end of the season until I decide my future" talk, knowing full well his  contract is going down, and the fans as usual will believe him.

if we dont make europe, I think he will use this as an excuse to get out and come out with the old "the club cant match my ambitions, But everton are still a great team " BS like they all do.

From fellainis point of view the only way I can see big teams in the Cl taking a punt on him is if his transfer fee is very low

If you don't think anyone is interested in him then we're not going to sell him are we?

You really are an embarrassment to your species.

I think he talked himself outta his own opinion so tagged on the last line when he realised he'd done so.

Nobody wants him... errr.... I'm supposed to be saying he'll leave... errrr.... right if I say someone will gamble on him for free then my argument stacks up.... errrrr....

I get on to the BR at last after a long drive back from the game, and I knew...just KNEW....that little f***wit would be all over the place spouting his BS.

He's so predictable, it's just today I don't have the patience to tolerate his incessant cr@p.

we paid too much for him and he hasnt lived up to promise. assuming we can use the money to buy, i'd let him go.

i disagree mate, we should be trying to nail him down to a 5 year contract, the lad is quality, no doubt about that whatsoever.

finally calmed down after yesterday sambo.

You have to let people have their opinions even if you dont agree with them.  otherwise you end up looking like a right ****head to other fans or neutrals who just browse the forum.

and we have been trying to get fellaini to sign for 7 months now,

i know this. but like 'ive said. we should do whatever we can to keep him. if we cant. obviously we will have to sell january time. the lad is quality and we need players of this quality. but if he goes, we need to make sure we get decent money for him, or enough for a replacement.

i'm calm mate, i'm calm 95% of the time. But, sometimes, and i always say everyone is entitled to their opinion, you do talk some utter tripe.

And yes, i do realize you do it to get a rise and you do do it for attention, so really, i shouldn't bother posting when i know your doing this. But yesterday, i just couldn't be bothered putting up with it :).

felliani wont sign a contract, i be amazed if he does, why would he, there are teams out there who would snap him up and he will come out with the same excuse as piennar "i want european football" top and bottom of it he knows he can get a lot more money from someone else and a big fat signing on fee to keep his old man happy, sell in january before its to late.

Agreed. Fellaini and Barkley could become a classy midfield (I think they would compliment each other) and would love them both to commit for the long term but dont see it happening in our current situation.

What I would though is play them and let the world see how good they both are and if we did have to sell them we would get more money. I don't agree with protecting Barkley too much because we might as well get some mileage out of him than protect him for the next team he plays for.

The Rodwell, Felli and Barkley Midfield combo would rival any mid in the prem and could last 10 years.

I say use the arteta money to sign Felli up for as long as possible. (That's if the banks haven't already taken it)

Add Drenthe to that and possibly Coleman (not got going yet). All young and promising
