Everton's Carling Cup clash with Chelsea has been confirmed for Wednesday, October 26 (8pm).

The two sides were paired in the fourth round when the draw was made on Saturday lunchtime.

The match, which takes place at Goodison Park, will not be shown live on television.

Everton progressed to this stage with home wins over Sheffield United and West Bromwich Albion.

Chelsea have only played one tie so far, defeating West London rivals Fulham on penalties.

The last time the teams met in this competition was over a two-legged semi-final which Chelsea won in January 2008.

More recently, Everton won an FA Cup tie at Stamford Bridge last season, coming through on penalties after Leighton Baines' dramatic free kick equaliser in the last minute of normal time.

    Live on Sky Sports:
    Tue 25 Aldershot v Man Utd (7.45pm)
    Wed 26 Wolves v Man City (7.45pm)

how either of these games gets picked before Everton v Chelsea is incredible, but not one bit surprising...only surprise is Stoke v Liverpool isn't on...

Well, obviously its not good but you can understand it.

If we beat Chelsea with their other commitments its probably not a surprise. Just as Liverpool don't have any european commitments and so them putting out a strong team against Stoke is expected.

But City are in a great position and won't want the extra fixuters and neither will Utd. Aldershot will play like their lives depend on it and it will be a great story if an upset happens. And Wolves will give it a decent go too.

Typical biased Sky Sports. If I was a neutral, I would want to watch EFC V CFC more than Man U V Aldershot or Man C V Wolves.
