I'ts good to see the revolving restaurant in the distance. I drove a hired crane on the excavation of the foundation' 'round 1970. The Wimpey's foreman was a big Irish pig. The firm I worked for was Stephensons crane hire. I don't think they are still in business. I must have done a good job . I'ts still standing.

My Mam use to take us there just after the war . Memories suddenly remembered. The old 22 tram down to the Pier Head then on the ferry " Across the Water " to New Brighton, it was a great days adventure for my younger brothers and I .  I was about 7 or 8...... How things have changed  My Mam and 3 kids, from Spellow Lane to New Brighton and return would have cost not much more than 1s / 6d for the lot of us. Scholars 1d return in the school holidays on the old trams.making sure you didn't lose the tickets you had to retain for the return journey. Useless information but I had to put it down as I remembered it.
