i'll stick my unnnaturally attractive **** on the line here, and say that if the club has any sense it'll make sure that neville is retained as a coach once he packs in playing. yes, he's limited in his attacking contribution but he's a proper pro (that'll wind some of you koontz up no doubt) who IMO has a load to offer the club off the pitch.

They were saying this morning on TalkSport, that according to one of the papers, Neville has been lined up, or something along those lines, to be coach of the England U21's next year in whatever tournament they're playing in.

Reckon he could potentially be a reasonable coach in some capacity.

Have to say I agree with you.Limited player but attitude on the pitch has been excellent for a number of years. Has been the scapegoat for the Wigan performance where virtually everyone was a disgrace. Distin was forgiven for the error in semi last year but you won't find the same leniency given to Phil. Top pro.

He talks a good game he just can't play it anymore but would not put the guy down he's done well over the years for us .

Every athelete knows when their time is up. Some can play upto the age of 40 but most retire well before that age.
Neville should have retired last year aqfter the Man U game and gone out on a high, now he'll always be remembered for the Wigan game. Remember sposts is ruthless - you're only as good as your last game. Wigan was def Neville's last game!
